Jade returned home with adrenalin still pumping through her system. She couldn’t afford to lose that edge of anger; it would have to carry her through some unpleasant tasks. The first item on her list was to call the ingesterie and hand in her resignation. The odds against her returning to work there were so enormous that it wouldn’t be fair to leave them hanging.
