Robbie, Beth and I stopped at a McDonald's and got us food before going to the beach house. It was a two-hour drive from my house to the beach house.
But I don't mind because I get to be in the car with my two best friends and not some snobby people known as Ace and Ryan.
I stare out the window as my hair blows in the wind and I listen as Robbie and Bethenny try to match Selena Gomez's voice in Who says. I always loved this song because it's a message put into a song.
If you've never heard it before, it's basically telling anyone that you shouldn't listen to the people around you if they tell you something rude or wrong. Because deep down, you know that none of the stuff they say is true. It tells you that you shouldn't listen to what other people say about or take them seriously because you know that in your own mind you're a beautiful princess and no one can bring that down. It tells you to gain that confidence that's within you and let it shine.
And I wish I could do that, but every time someone calls me some horrible name or if someone pushes me into a locker because I slightly touched them when passing by at school, my confidence goes down a percentage. And slowly my percentage is dying with every word someone tells me.
"Alex? Are you okay?"
I get out of my trance and stare at Robbie and Bethenny who are looking at me with worried eyes. I nod my head smiling letting them know that I am okay and just lost in my mind again. Robbie slowly nods his head and shares a glance with Beth before turning back to me.
"Well, we're here. Beth and I brought all of our stuff in while you were in la la land." Robbie says chuckling.
I chuckle and unbuckle my seat belt and thank them for taking my stuff in. Beth smiles and wraps her arms around my shoulders and we stare at the white house in front of us. Robbie stands next to us and claps his hands before jumping up and down and runs to the house. Beth and I giggle at him before following him up the pavement.
The sun rays hit my back and a warm fuzzy feeling grows inside of me. The smell of the sea hits my nose and the sound of the rushing water as it hits against a rock and the squawks of the birds up above ring through my ears and I smile. I know this is a place that I can feel safe from everyone's judgemental stares. Well, that is until the two devils arrive that is.
"Robbie said there is beer in the fridge for tonight," Beth says plopping down on the couch and sprawls her tan legs against the leather.
I nod my head and sit in the love seat. I can hear the cabinets open and shut as Robbie places the food we packed into them. I grab the remote and turn on the flat-screen TV and smile as Disney Channel is still on from when I last visited.
"Do you want to watch some Hannah Montana?" I ask looking at Bethenny.
Bethenny rolls her eyes and shakes her head laughing. "Of course. They never play it in the evening so we need to take it up."
I laugh and watch the episode.
The episode is where Miley has to choose between Jake and Jessie. I always had a crush on Jake growing up but when this episode aired I fell in love with Jessie.
"Ooh! Hannah Montana!" Robbie says jumping over the chair and taking a seat beside me.
Beth and I chuckle and turn our attention back to the tv. About fifteen minutes into the show, I can hear tires scrape across the rocks and I groan knowing that our peaceful moment will soon be ruined.
"Great. The Devils have arrived." I mutter under my breath.
Beth and Robbie nod their heads and the door opens and Ryan and Ace stand there making out.
