(Kieran) I sat in my office Saturday morning with nothing much to do. My surgical schedule was clear for the weekend. The hospital was running smoothly. All my paperwork was caught up. Which meant my mind kept going back to Sloane. And Vaughn. And the divorce that was coming soon. I pulled up the hospital security system on my computer. As Chief of Surgery, I had access to all the logs and camera feeds. It was part of my job to monitor staff movements, especially when there were safety concerns. And Vaughn Reid was definitely a safety concern. I opened the security logs from the past week. Vaughn's badge had been used three times. All during his scheduled night shifts. He'd swiped in at the staff entrance, gone straight to the surgical floor, and left when his shift ended. No detour
