I knew Bella wanted me to rest, but that wasn’t happening until I dealt with my mother. She had crossed a line—one I had explicitly told her not to.
While lying in the hospital, I had plenty of time to think. I originally assumed Jared poisoned me during the fight, but the wolfsbane had acted too fast. Too strong. If he had injected me, he would’ve had to shift into his human form, and I would have noticed.
