Isabella’s POV
“You wanna go next?” I felt this anger inside me; I wanted to burn everything to the ground.
“You monster!” She screamed at me.
I chuckled hollowly. “No,” I said, my voice cold and steady. “I’m a mother. And I’ll do whatever it takes to protect my family.”
The witch didn’t wait for me to say anything else. She turned and ran, her footsteps echoing down the hallway as she fled. I didn’t chase her. My focus was on Kathy’s lifeless body, the blood pooling beneath her, and the silver dagger lying on the ground.
I dropped her heart with disgust. I felt so strong like I’ve never felt before. I wasn’t sure if it was the adrenaline, but I was invincible.
