I was feeling happy that I had finally marked Elena and that no one would ever take her or even try to take her away from me now. After I had marked her she seemed to be in an immense amount of pain and I knew that was because I wasn't her true mate. This didn’t bother me at all because I knew that she would eventually get over it. I had heard it being said that if a female wolf was marked by a male that wasn’t her mate, the mark wouldn't work, but I had just proven that wrong because Elena did have my mark now. I even got the doctor to look at her and give her some painkillers since she seemed to be in a lot of pain and he did.
