SECRET CHEST INSIDE THE WALL

712 Words
" Look we don't know what's up there. It could be dangerous. Grendale is the only one who has powers and can protect himself but what about us? He won't be able to focus on all of us at once", reasoned Goltimer. " That's why i am suggesting i'll throw him up....". When they were about to protest again he quickly interrupted them and continued,"... and, once he surveys the situation we'll find a way up. okay? Who knows maybe the way up might be upstairs only. We have to try". Grendale and prince Koda looked at one another. Although they didn't wanted to but they knew that what he said might be truth. Reluctantly they nodded their heads. Goltimer took position, Grendale with shaking legs climbed up and sat on his outstretched palm. Grendale was heaving nervous breaths when Goltimer announced him ready. He nodded once and the next thing he felt was ground leaving his feet, and fast rush of air. In a matter of seconds he hit hard ground and rolled a few distance stopping with a huff. Grendale pushed himself up and dusted before looking around. " Hey Grendale. You alright up there?", yelled the prince from below. Grendale took a moment taking in everything before he answered ," Ya i am okay. I made it". " Good then. How is it up there?" Koda yelled again. " I'll look around and tell in a minute." Grendale reverted back and took a few stumbling steps forward. He was in the middle of some ruins with a ( amazingly sturdy and standing ) what looked like an open wall stone roof shed. There was nothing left to see here except broken stones and huge thorns stuck into the ground only outside of the shed. That's strange. Crossing over the border with a lengthy step Grendale made his way to the strange wall. When he was almost near it he heard a sharp "ouch!" from behind. He quickly turned back to the sound but not watching his step he stumbled upon the thorns and went flying directly into the strange wall and 'BAAAM!!!!' Clutching his head he slowly turned to see who else but the prince walking towards his with a pained expression clutching his left shoulder. " When we didn't hear from tha' for a long time we grew worried and Goltimer threw me here to look for you". Calming himself down to not scream at him for scaring him and almost cracking his skull open, he closed his eyes and took deep breaths. When he was cool enough he looked back at the prince to see him gaping at something behind him. Grendale spun around to notice that due to the crash the wall had slid a few inches behind than the rest of the walls. All the pain and anger vanished when he realized that this could be a hidden wall that could lead to a hidden room. Beckoning to the prince he called him nearer and asked him to help push this wall further behind. After a number of heaving and pushes they had managed to slide the wall a few distance when the wall jerked a little and suddenly Grendale pulled back the prince. The wall they had been pushing till now with a loud crash and thud sunk into the ground reveling a pathway further inside. Waving off the dust they carefully ventured into the cave to find a big chest that had a jewel embedded exteriors and an ancient looking lock. Grendale rises his eyebrows in amazement and approached the chest.  Taking the lock in his hand he examined it and realized that the lock could be broken as the keyhole was rusted. He felt the lock around his fingers and then pulled hard at it. A faint c***k came from inside the lock. " Its working, pulled harder", encouraged the prince. " I am... trying...", Grendale grunted through clenched teeth as he pulled at the lock with all his strength. He tugged a little more and with long creek the lock snapped away, making Grendale fall flat on his back. Getting up with excitement and caution they came to the chest and slowly pried the heavy lid open.
