After this short conflict, Grendale continued on to the bridge. But on reaching it what does he see. The so called bridge is actually a sliding escalator. People used it to go to the other side by sliding on the lines over the river. Grendale looked around for some sort of button to activate the escalator. Near the corner was a red button, but even on pressing it the escalator wouldn't budge. Maybe the power supply was off. Just a little distance away to the west side was a little hut. Grendale went over and knocked on the door to see if anyone could help him cross the river. An old man opened the door just a little but had kept the night lock on. In a scared tone he asked, " W... who.. who are... you?..what do you want from me now?". Grendale politely introduced himself to the old man and asked if he could help him cross the bridge. On learning that it was the warrior the old man let him inside. He explained that after the great evil settling the whole forest got evilly mutated. All the animals and birds grew vicious and attacked the people who came by. Grendale reassured him that he'll make everything right and asked how to reactivate the escalator. " Some evil creatures forced entry into the control room and stole the 'Pot of Excalamus'. Without it the power supply to the escalator has been stopped. You great warrior must help retrieve the pot so that the bridge can be reactivated." Saying thus the old man pointed out the window to a huge dark castle just a little away and said, " That castle had been abandoned for a long time now.The creatures who stole the pot went on there. You must be careful." Grendale promised to bring the pot back and went towards the castle. There were paw prints on the front yard going into the castle. Anticipating an sudden attacks Grendale drew his sword out and ventured into the castle. Everything was quite inside. That was definitely fishy knowing that evil creatures were inside. When Grendale reached what felt like the great hall he looked up at the ceiling. CRIKEY!! Three large fire bats were peeking at him from behind the chandelier with fangs exposed. Grendale gulped and braced himself for impact. The three bats screeched and flew towards him with fangs barred and spitting fire but with three swift fearless moves the warrior cut off each of the bat's one wing. The bats fell down and squirmed a little before dissolving into ashes. Then Grendale slowly approached the stairs in the great hall and started climbing it cautiously keeping his eyes peeled for any quick moments.
