"GOLLY YOU'RE THE PRINCE?"......

501 Words
Staring right into the pointy end of the sword the golem knew it was defeated and immediately raised its hands in surrender. " Please don't kill me. I swear all I did was because I was hungry and hoped I could eat something better than bats. After all I am stuck here myself for 13 years, you can't blame me for craving your meat. Please spare me." The poor guy was on the verge of tears. Grendale was amazed at how words came tumbling after each other. Feeling merciful for the stone head Grendale replaced his sword into his Baldric and jumped off it's chest. Heaving a sigh of breath the golem stood up and backed off to a corner. Grendale looked about for the mystery boy and found him quivering behind a pillar. Grendale slowly and soothingly called out to him, " Hey man you okay? Don't worry. I have taken care of the big guy. He won't hurt us now. Do come out. No need to be afraid. No ones gonna hurt you." The strange boy slowly peeked out and finding the golem sitting in the corner fearfully eyeing the hero, understood that the situation was under control. With his legs still shaking slightly he made his way out from behind the pillar and towards Grendale. Grendale watched as the mystery boy ambled towards him still keeping a sharp lookout for the golem which itself was scared to death still trying to get over the part where it was nearly blinded when Grendale pinpointed his sword at its eyes. The mystery boy came a little nearer but still kept his distance. " Say. Who are you buddy? How long have you been stuck here?" soothingly asked Grendale. " I... I..I'm... " stammered the boy. Grendale noticed that he was twisting his hands nervously. So quickly interrupting him Grendale calmly assured him , " It's OK buddy relax. Don't be afraid. I promise no one will hurt you." and doubtfully added, "Can I come closer?". He was a little relieved when the boy nodded and slowly came to him and rested a warm and assuring hand on his shoulder and caressed his cheek. The boy relaxed and loosened up a bit. Then Grendale turned and guided them to sit down at the edge of the other side. Sitting side by side Grendale once again more soothingly asked the same questions. This time the boy felt a little calmer and answered in what sounded like Yorkshire. " I am th'son o' th'sixth decendent o' my great ancestor, th'first king o'th' light, 'King Magnamus'. I am th'seventh decendent. Th'prince o'th'city of florenum." Grendale couldn't believe his ears. His only expression was wide eyes and a gaping mouth. "Golly you're the prince?" asked Grendale dumbstruck. Gracious! Such luck. Grendale actually ran straight into the prince in a place no one could have imagined. What happens now? What is the story of the prince being here? Find out in the next episode. Stay tuned.
