You Will Be A Dead Man

Jared POV

"That's because I've been noticing you for a few minutes and you haven't looked in the files, just kept turning the pages," she explained.

"I'm sorry, I'm a little distracted today; I'm not sure where my mind is," I explained. "Can you finish this for me Lisa?" I inquired. "I remembered that I have some important work to complete, so I need to leave now; will you be able to finish this work alone?", I asked her.

"Yes sir, don't worry, I'll finish this work on my own; I'm used to checking files, so it won't be a problem for me," she replied. "Don't worry about the office; I'll take care of everything here; you can trust me."

"Are you certain, Lisa, that it's not 10 to fifteen files? Will you be able to verify more than fifty files thoroughly and without making any mistakes? You'll need some assistance; I'm afraid you won't be able to do it on your own ", I inquired.

"Yes sir, don't worry, I'll take care of it," she replied. "This isn't the first time I've dealt with so many files, so you can leave it to me sir."

"All right, Lisa I'm trusting you with all these files; try to do it as soon as possible," I said.

He said, "Yes, sir."

I walked out of the office and approached my car.

I buckled up and began driving towards Christof's mansion.

It took me an hour to get to his mansion, and I got out of my car and went straight towards Christof's room. "Sir, I told you that you couldn't enter Mr Nelson's room, why don't you understand, please sir, you will jeopardise all of your employment, we can't afford to lose this job sir," the maid answered.

"Christof's life is more important than your jobs, so whatever happens, I will enter his room. Have you gotten it? "I responded.

"Sir, please don't do this to us, our jobs are important to us, we have small children at home to look after, please sir, we all need this job, and if you enter the room, mr Christof might remove all of us from this job, he warned all of us, please sir, try to understand what I am trying to tell you, I know it doesn't matter to you if our job stays or if you lose them, because mr Nelson will never remove you from your job as you are his best friend".

"Get out of my way, I need to make sure Christof is okay, it's been 3 to 4 hours and he hasn't left his room, I don't know what he's doing inside and I'm worried about him, you all are just workers who don't care about their masters' health, but I do because he's like my brother, and what matters to you is just your jobs, not a person's life, so please get out of my way, and let

The maids moved out of my path, and I approached Christof's room, knocking on his door.

"Hey Christof is everything okay, please let me in so that I can make sure of you are okay, please Christof open the door i won't disturb you, I just want to make sure if you are okay", I said while knocking at his door, but I didn't get any response from inside.

"I know Christof that you are angry with me but please open the door Christof, we can sort things out, please Christof open the door, okay fine don't open the door but at least respond, I am worried about you brother please open the door", I said again while knocking the door.

I Was not getting any response from inside, I was getting more worried because I don't know if he is okay inside.

"Why is he not answering, this seems so unusual, Christof never does this he will always answer me ,no matter how much we fight or argue he has Never behaved like this before I know something is wrong inside", I said to the other bodyguards.

"So what should we do now sir, is it because sir doesn't want to be disturbed that is why he is not responding to any of us, I think we should leave Mr Christof inside alone for sometime", one of the guards replied.

"Sir he is right Mr jared, please let me Christof alone for sometime he needs some time alone, and he would not like anyone to disturb him, so please leave the mansion now because you are just creating a lot of chaos and mess here", one of the maids said to me.

"I am not leaving, did you get it, and if Christof is not opening the door and if he is not responding them there must be something wrong inside, and I want to know what is wrong, because now I am getting really worried about him, I just want to make sure if he is okay inside", I replied.

"Sir what should we do now, if we break inside Mr Christof would get furious, we can't do anything without his permission, and he also told all of us not to disturb him today so I think that we should follow his command sir", one of the guards replied.

I didn't Know how to make these people understand that Christof is unpredictable now. After Addison's death he acted not like himself. I am afraid that he should not take any wrong steps, and these people will never care for him , they just want their jobs to be safe.

Carlos POV

I put on the transmitter and I headed towards the village.

The next thing I saw when I reached inside gave me goosebumps.

The village and the villagers were missing it was nowhere to be found, I couldn't understand suddenly how did the village disappear, I was now a bit afraid because if Christof got to know that the village was missing he would kill me by shooting me, I had to take care of my mom, because my mom had only me in her life I didn't secure her old age, I didn't know how to tell Christof about this, I couldn't lose my life. I don't know how Nelson would react. I know that he would get furious.

On the other hand Christo was asking me about Addison from the transmitter. I didn't Know what to answer. I didn't have the courage to answer any of his questions.

"Carlos, did you get in the village?".

"Did you see Addison?",

"Is Addison okay?Why are you not replying Carlos???, I am getting tense, should I come inside, Carlos will you reply, what happened?", He questioned me.

"Sir you can come in", I said with a trembling voice.

I have no idea how would Mr Nelson react

After a few seconds Mr Nelson headed towards me.

"Why is there no village here Carlos?", he questioned me while scanning the area searching for his wife.

"I don't sir, I don't know what's happening, there used to be a village here, I can't understand how it disappeared all of a sudden", I replied.

"Are you serious Carlos, we came all the way here, and now I am seeing a disappeared village, did this village even exist?"He questioned me while taking few steps towards me.

"Sir trust me, there was a village here I can't understand where it is now, please trust me sir", I replied with a trembling voice.

"How am I supposed to trust you Carlos, because there is nothing here, I can't see any village, you told me that Addison was here in the village, but now there is no village here, how am I gonna find Addison now", he replied.

He took out a gun and he pointed it out towards me.

"I told you not to lie to me, because I would not be able to bear lies about my wife, I had a lot of expectations Carlos, but now I don't know, because of your lie I am broken again, I had faith that I would find her again, but now I don't because of you", he replied.

"Please don't lose hope sir, we will find your wife, please put the gun down sir, trust me I am not lying and your wife is alive, but I can't understand where the village disappeared, sir I told you that I am coming here after 6 months, so I had no idea that the village would not be here, please believe me sir, please trust me", I replied.

"Jared was right, I shouldn't have trusted you Carlos, you liar!!"He yelled.

"Sir believe me, I am not lying please trust Me, there can be a reason behind this disappearance of this village, let's find out", I replied.

"If I find out that this village Never existed you are dead for real Carlos, trust me I will this time shoot, there is still time you can accept that you're lying and we can return back, I am waiting Carlos", he replied.

"Sir please trust me, let's search around and ask around. We might get a lead, they might tell us what exactly happened here, I am getting really worried because if anything happens to the tribal villagers we will not be able to find your wife and I am afraid of that", I replied.

"Okay fine Carlos let's ask around, but if they deny about the village you will be dead a man, so confess the truth now Carlos you still have time, don't mess with your life because I am serious", he replied.

"I am not at all afraid sir, because I know that I am not lying and I am telling you the truth, and I am helping you with all my heart", I replied.

"Okay fine then Carlos lets ask around, we should not waste time we have already wasted a lot of time here", he replied.

"Yes sir, we should ask around without wasting any time,'' I replied.

We both headed towards the other side where people were staying.

We asked a few houses around and they told us everything about the village.

"Do you know anything about that village, it once existed but now it's nowhere to be found. Do you know anything about that village? It would help a lot sir", I asked one of the citizens who stayed there.

"Yes sir actually there was a village there but they had to move from that place because they were threatened by one of the rich men, he wanted to build a mall here and he wanted the land so he threatened them that if they didn't move from this place they would be dead, so they had to leave this place and search for another place, they asked us help for money because we used to sometime help the villagers here with money, so we all collected money and gave it to them, next morning they left this place, I feel a kind of sad for them", the man replied.

"For how many days have passed since they moved from this place", I asked him.

"A month may be", he replied.

"That you so much sir, for helping us out", I thanked the stranger, because he just saved my life.

"Can I ask you something?", He asked me

"Yes you can sir", I replied.

"I am curious to know why you are in search of this village because you guys are the first ones to ask us about these villagers because no one cared about them", he replied.

"I used to help to tutor their children so that's how I know them, and they disappeared so I was worried about these villagers", I replied.

"Okay sir, I am happy that you cared about these villagers", he replied.

We left that place and we headed towards our car.

"Now do you believe me sir, that I was not lying to you and I was telling the truth, because I didn't have any idea that this village would have disappeared all of a sudden", I replied.
