I am sitting in this chair, in this waiting room that is full of people, yet I feel so alone. All I keep picturing in my mind is Rae falling off that cliff. "Where are those girls?" the guy that came here with me asks. "I doubt they will be coming. They told me they would blame me for everything if I said a word of what happened," I tell him. "Well, my Alpha is on the way, and I will report back what I saw," he says. I just nod. I want to ask him questions. What's his name? Where does he live? What pack is he from? What was he doing at the lake by himself? But the words get stuck in my throat. I can't talk. I can't even feel anything but numbness.
I watch as Cage rushes in here and the tears start up again. I feel like crying like a toddler. He looks at me, and his face falls.
