It took a full week before Amelia found time in her schedule to arrange a flight back to the United States to meet with Richard and Svetlana. Unfortunately, because she needed to tread carefully and avoid alerting Parliament to her plans, she was forced to take the long way—unable to risk asking Cutty to open a portal.
Additionally, when Amelia reached out to Richard via email, she was met with an automated out-of-office response.
Surprisingly, Richard and Svetlana had secretly tied the knot and were currently on a world-tour honeymoon, courtesy of Svetlana’s teleportation abilities. So, Amelia was forced to wait until Richard and Svetlana returned and he could confirm a suitable date.
