“Svetlana! Don’t do this!” Olivia shouted, her voice echoing down the corridor.
As soon as Svetlana finished sharing her intent with Amelia and Stephen, she turned and stepped out of the conference room, with Olivia hot on her heels.
“Olivia, why do you care if I turn dark again?” Svetlana countered, not slowing her pace. “It simply gives you another reason to vanquish me, no?”
“You think I want to van—Svetlana, I have never wanted to vanquish you! You put me in positions where I had no choice because of the decisions you made—just like the one you’re about to make right now!”
“I am not doing anything yet, Olivia,” Svetlana replied, her tone infuriatingly level. “Before I can even attempt to call upon dark magic to summon the tendrils, I have to find Radcliffe first.”
