We picked up Dr. Mosco in an uber we ordered, and I was on the phone with Jace making sure we had everything ready.
“I have an ambulance on standby just in case anything goes wrong,” Jace said to me. My knee was bouncing up and down. Gia’s hand touched my thigh rubbing back and forth.
I closed my eyes and took a deep breath.
“How did you manage that?”
“Do you remember the Becks?” he asked.
“Yeah, uber rich new friends of yours and Ashlynn’s.”
“Well, with their uber richness comes a lot of power. Ashlynn called Isha Becks. Their friendship has blossomed considerably, and she was nervous for Gia and they talked. Isha offered an ambulance and a private room just in case.”
“That’s really nice of them. Please thank them for us. We’re almost there, we’re five minutes out.”
