“Oh god no. Please let him be okay.”
I stand helplessly as I watch Daniel examine Leon who is now lying in his bed. The purple veins on his shoulders are spreading to his torso, arms, and back.
Leon’s dad is pacing in the room while Marco tries to calm him down. May sits next to Leon on the bed, holding his hand. I stand in the corner with Charlotte who rubs my shoulder in a soothing manner.
‘What did we do, Umbra?’
‘I... don’t know.’ She whimpers.
I tend to forget that she knows as much as I do when it comes to all of this.
I really want to hold Leon’s hand. I want to comfort him and make him know that I am here but his dad yelled at me and told me to stay away from him when we got him to the bed.
