“I have to change.” Thaz gestured at his blood-stained clothes as he replied to the middle-aged police officer that had a beer belly. “I have more important thing to do than to answer your questions, which I’m confident that my head bodyguard can actually provide to your hearts’ content.” The police officer, who was joined by his partner, glanced at Lewis. “But we’re not done with—” he started to protest. “I’m not under arrest, am I?” Thaz cut him off. “No, no, sir. We are just going to have more questions for you—officially—that you need to come with us to the precinct,” the second younger police officer replied. “Officers, if you’re going to ask me the same questions, I won’t go. All right? If not, I’ll go to the precinct when I can. Right now, I must be somewhere else,” he insisted.
