Jared looked at the woman in front of him, her eyes holding all his dreams. For years, he felt like his heart was in a cage, unable to escape, but since she had come back... he was feeling more and more like the cage was opened. She was the key, she had always been the key.
As he talked with her, as he looked at her, everything that had happened four years ago felt like some faraway nightmare, something that happened only in his fictional world and he was starting to doubt everything.
If what he had accused her of hadn't really happened, it meant he screwed up his own life. It meant, he was the only one he could blame for the earthquake that destroyed his life.
