Chapter 39: The Interview

Saturday. It was finally here. The day Jade dreaded, and anticipated. She feared the end, she also welcomed the end. After today, she could safely stay away, at least until she grew a pair and confessed to Jared about Cole. The interview was around four in the evening and Jade spent the morning with Cole, playing with him and laughing with him, but even then, she felt the shadow of fear pressing against her chest.
She just hated how her heart was roiling and her gut was trying new circus stunts. What was it about him that made her feel like this, always?
