Chapter 32: When We Broke Rules
(flashback - six days since the bet Jared made with Jade)
Jade was strangely happy as she woke up that day. She had a pleasant dream, something that was not spoilt by the stench of darkness that always surrounded her dreams. Everyone of her dreams would start good, but halfway through, it would always, always become bad. It was like even her subconscious was too afraid to dream a happy dream.
She didn't really remember much about today's dream, but just the lingering seconds made her happy. Jared was in her dream, so was Megan and Nate.
"Guten Morgen," Rosa said in a cheerful voice. Jade rubbed her eyes and pulled her head out of her blanket, blinking at the sunlight that swept in through broken windows, but it was nothing new.
