I walked past Beth, Leo and Noah at the top of the stairs but I didn’t say anything to them. I went to the front door, put on my boots, my jacket and scarf and I left the house.
I saw that there were guards watching me so I started moving faster. They were obviously my protection detail, but that meant that they were telling the twins everything that I was doing right now. And I didn’t want them to know where I was.
I headed straight to the middle of town, and as soon as I got a chance, I ducked into an alley and started running as fast as I could until I came out on the other street and I ran down that street as fast as I could until I turned the corner.
