52. The Surprise

The week passes by rather quickly, and soon enough I find myself looking forward to spending the weekend with my dad. We have agreed on my going to my grandparents’ house. Considering my parents are not divorced, merely separated, dad doesn’t need to schedule our meetings really - it’s not as if mom has full custody of me. Bonding with my dad has never been as easy, especially seeing as my uncle made himself scarce. We talk about everything openly, share a few laughs and what would later be the nicest memories I’ll keep of him. If only our time together wasn’t tainted with his frequent coughing and my fear of him passing each time.
