I took my time walking through the crowd of venders eyeing anything that I might want to check out later, I found my way through the market area finding a sign for the hound and hair tavern and inn. Following the signs I approach a large building at least three stories high with large white painted letters across the side saying Hound and hair. It was busy from the outside as a few older gentlemen were sitting playing what looked like checkers outside the front doors, which were open to the public. walking in it was nice not many people had taken a notice to me as I made my way to the bar area where and older women fairy plump in size women was drying glasses and hanging them back up along the bar. “Excuse me, do you have any available rooms?” I asked leaning into the bar The women smiled a spoke “yes, its fifty a night including a free meal “reaching in my bag I sorted through the wad of money grabbing enough for two nights, “Here, I’m not sure how long I’ll be staying. I assume two nights maybe more”. I said, handing over the money. She took the money, depositing a key with a wooden chip attached to the handle with a number four carved on it. “you’ll be room four on the second floor dear, also can I have your name for record?” she asked pulling out a guest logbook. “Devin Woods” I said trying to peek at the other names in the book, but in a flash, she had written my name down and stowed the book back under the bar. “Have a nice day dear” she said to conclude our business. Without another word I made my way up a flight of stairs the women have so kindly motioned to, the upstairs looked like any old generic motel would, even down to the weird red carpet everywhere. There were only four rooms located on this floor, so it was easy enough to find my room, after fighting with the lock for a few minutes I managed to push the door open. The room was small with a full-sized mattress on one side of the room with a dresser and a wooden tub hidden by a few wooden changing Panels. It wasn’t the four seasons but it would do, hoping to save a trip back out I went through the dresser drawers looking for any type of clothes only to be met with a family of spiders… sighing I got up as much as I’d prefer showering there’s no point when I don’t have anything proper to change into, the few clothes I did manage to grab from the pack house are thin or too short since I had not planned on the seasons changing so rapidly. Reluctantly I grabbed my bag and room key making my way out, locking the room behind me. Walking downstairs I noticed the flow of people had increased mostly for the tavern part of this establishment. Walking out on the street I headed back towards the cute little market area heading straight for a clothing shop I had mentally marked, it had fairly pain clothes nothing to flashy and hopefully underwear. Walking in a scent of burning sage hit my nose quite abrasively as I noticed the twenty or so burns placed throughout the shop. Taking shallow breaths, I quickly sorted through piles of clothes until I settled on a plain green dress with a pair of brown trousers and cloak along with a pair of dark leather boots. Placing them on a table of who I presumed to be the owner of the shop I smiled and asked. “Do you happen to sell underwear or any under garment of sorts?” I asked as the youthful red-haired girls smiled. “right this way” she said motioning over to a dresser looking display and as she pulled out the various drawers I blushed with embarrassment as each drawer was filled with various different colored lacey thongs, and matching brasiers all completely see through. “Oh um, these are nice, but do you have like a full coverage option?” I said as her smile faded into a confused look. Before she could answer I grabbed a few pairs from the drawers and said “this will be fine”. I could guess her answers before she said it, because remembering back undergarments are common at all once one reaches maturity, except for appeal purposes. As the women looked over my items she scribbled on a notepad before saying “your total will be eighteen and three silver”. I jumbled around in my bag gathering the money together handing it over to the women who pocketed it into her apron and began wrapping up my items in brown paper. Fitting as much as I could in my backpack and thanks the women grabbing the remaining packages and head outside. Stepping outside not too much time had passed but it did seem like a lot of the street venders were packing it up for the day. I began walking back to the hound and hair when I began to feel uneasy, as if I were being watched. Picking up my pace I began scanning my surroundings hoping to find what was causing this unease, it was only a quick glance over my shoulder, but I swore I saw the hooded figure from the bar I had stopped at along the way here, but when I fully turned there was no one there. The feeling had also subsided as I turned, not wanting to pry further I made a bee line for the tavern doors and headed straight up too my room for a much-needed bath. Once I was in my room, I locked the door tossing my bags on the bed, wasting no time I stripped off my clothes, walking towards the bathtub it was large enough for one person with a small plug drain at the bottom of the tub and a blue water crystal on the side of the tub. Tapping the gem the tub began to fill with warm water. Grabbing my bag, I dug through it pulling out the bar of orange cream soap I had taken bringing it with me back over to the tub. I got it sitting down as the warm water began to ease my sore muscles. The bath was long and welcome as I drained and refilled the tub several times until I was squeaky clean. As the heat began to dissipate in the bathwater I drained the tub one final time before stepping out realizing I had no towel… fun love this, I thought to myself as I tip toed to the bed grabbing a tank top out of my bag using it to dry my body and hair, lucky I chop off enough hair that my hair would now be dry in no time. Once dry I put on a matching pair of panties and bra, as itchy as it was something was still better than nothing as I opted out on the pants and cloak saving it for my journey tomorrow. Pulling the green dress over my head it was thick enough to block the cold winds and still airy enough not to burn up while inside. Wishing I had a mirror to see I knew I was rocking this dress just the way it was hugging my slip frame made it look like I had a little junk in the trunk. Slipping on my new leather boots I grabbed a few golden coins and my room key locking the door behind me as I made my way downstairs. The Sun was now beginning to set as a few of the patrons I has seen earlier were now on their fourth or fifth drink, slurring their words as they talk above the crowds exaggerating their life stories. well at least a bar is still a bar, I was twenty-two in my old life working on my final year of collage thinking back I had noticed how crucial pieces of my past life had been missing… like what I was studying to be… or what collage I went too… where did I even live. An uneasy feeling settled in my gut as I made my way to the bar pulling up a stool. “My gosh deer you look like you’ve seen a ghost “the women from before said setting a glass of what I assume to be the house special beer as it shared the same resemblance to my drinks before. Going to reach for my money the women held up her hand “on the house dear “she said. I smiled thanking her “thanks, um… I’m sorry I didn’t get your name from before” trying to snap out of my dark mood I took a sip of the bitter liquor. “Fawn is my name “she smiled as she was pulled away by another patron leaning over the bar yelling an order at her. She couldn’t help trying to hide her annoyed look as she moved down the bar. I began nursing my beer as I opened my senses trying to hear through the crowd for any interesting conversations, unfortunately the most interesting thing I could hear was the baker’s wife was having an affair with the black smith I was about to flag down Fawn when a man took the seat directly next to me placing a new drink in front of me. “hello “he said in a husky deep voice. Turning to face him, I saw his strong jawline and ink black shaggy hair. His eyes blue and piercing as ice, I knew my jaw began to slack as my eyes traced the tribal looking tattoos on his neck the disappeared under his tight black shirt. His pale complexion made his dark features pop even more and all though he was slender his muscles still made themselves known under his clothes. “Hi, hello. I’m Devin” I said awkwardly holding out my hand. He gave such a charming chuckle I hadn’t noticed my body moving closer to his until our legs were now touching as a heat spread through me. -is this a mating bond- I quickly asked reign now restless in my mind… -no- she said quickly in a huff – it’s just lust – she said bluntly but also nudging me encouraging me to follow my feelings.
