Threatening Talk

1263 Words
Beast and Terra trained along with Robin and Cyborg. Neither Star or Raven wanted to help her in any way and the boys didn't blame them. Terra excelled pretty easily in hand to hand combat, her skills from gymnastics making her a pretty decent sparring partner.  But her ability to control the earth was proving challenging. She was stronger than before, her power on dormant acting as a battery rather than diminish the power altogether. Terra tried to lean on Beast like how she did before but every time she leaned she fell on her face. Beast wasted no time when they're training was over to leave her alone to go be with his girlfriend. Which annoyed her since he didn't want to talk to her or even treat her like a person. More like a task he HAD to do. And it bothered Terra to the depths of her soul. One night she couldn't sleep, the room Starfire brought her to was far from everyone else and completely barren sans a bed and a dresser. Terra had thought Star would give her, her old fashioned bone-crushing hugs again. But Starfire had turned and left her there with a chilly feeling that the alien wasn't forgiving her either. Sighing Terra dunked her oreo into her milk sadly. Hearing a noise, Terra looked to see Cyborg and grinned a little, "Sup Cy'?" Cyborg looked at the blonde girl and nodded, "Nothing much, blondie. You good?" Terra sighed, "Honestly? No." Sighing Terra mumbled, "I know...I know he's with Raven now and she doesn't like me, but why does he act like he can't even be my friend? He came to see me when he saw I was back and tried to get me to remember!"  Cyborg nodded, "I know he told us. But then he realized that you had a fresh slate and he couldn't f**k that up for you. And now? Well, times have passed, things aren't the same as they were. The green little boy you saw before you turned to stone is gone, he grew up-." Terra scoffed bitterly, "But still so madly in love with the demon he can't seem to see me. Right." Cyborg shook his head sadly, "He sees you, Terra, just not how you want him too." Terra nodded and watched Cyborg leave with his huge sandwich.  That morning Raven woke up sore but thoroughly pleased. Beast was still asleep so she put on his too-big pajama bottoms and shirt and went to the kitchen yawning. She was met by Starfire who yawned before whining, "Coffee?"  Raven nodded urgently, "Need it!" Both girls rushed into the kitchen dragging their feet. As Raven began making breakfast Starfire held up a magazine showing the most perfect boots, "We want?" Raven grinned widely, "We need." Starfire folded the page and suddenly Terra came in and greeted them before fixing herself a cup of coffee and asking, "The boys aren't up?" Star shook her head before saying, "Robin's been enjoying sleeping in. No more five am wake up calls." Raven didn't turn around as she said, "And Beast will up as soon as he smells bacon." Terra slowly nodded before joking, "I never thought I'd see the day Beast Boy would eat meat!" Both Star and Raven exchanged looks before continuing on like she said nothing. Terra looked Raven over in Beast's clothes and mumbled, "So you two hooking up now?" Starfire looked at Terra shocked she'd ask such a question, but Raven wasn't.  Instead, she casually admitted, "We're together." Terra scoffed and muttered, "Figures." Starfire looked between the two seeing the friction. Terra looked to the alien and politely asked if she'd let her and Raven talk in private. Raven gave a nod of approval before looking at Terra with her arms crossed, "Yes?" Terra rolled her eyes, "I don't see why you hate me so much. In retrospect, I should hate you." Raven jerked back surprised, "Oh really? And why is that? I didn't put your family in danger." Terra clenched her hands together, "No but you didn't like someone and have to sit back and watch him whine and cry over someone else."  Raven scoffed, "Well, that's where you're wrong. I liked Beast, hell I loved him when you came along. I had to watch you two together all the time."  Terra waved her off, "When you didn't know how he felt about you or weren't caring to see how he felt. Beast Boy may have liked me, but he was obsessed with you. Always whining about how you wouldn't give him the time of day. And when I finally got him to kiss me, he ended up still choosing you!"  Raven c****d her head to the side, "What do you mean?" Terra scoffed before bitterly recounting that day... Terra had begged Slade to let Best Boy go. But he had sworn the green changeling would fight, he wouldn't just let his team be slaughtered, his loyalty was unwavering. Terra hounded Slade until finally, the masked criminal conceded, "Fine, you get him to join us, or he goes down with the rest of the titans." Terra flipped her blonde hair out of her eyes, "I took him away that night when the tower was raided to try and convince him that he could love me. Be with me! I was nice to him, I laughed at his jokes, I wanted to be with him while all you did was break his heart. But after he kissed me he told me it wasn't like his first kiss. When you kissed him!" Raven smiled a little remembering the accidental kiss they had shared in the hallway of titans tower so long ago. She had called it a mistake and told him to never speak of it, but when she was alone, she had thought about it more than she thought possible. "What did you have that I didn't?" Terra wondered out loud looking Raven over like she was something less. "I don't know," Raven admitted honestly, "But it's enough for him. So leave it be and just be grateful he's willing to help you." Terra scoffed, "He was the one who came after me when he realized I was back. He tried to get me to remember but I refused to. Now here I am remembering everything." Raven finished up breakfast and locked eyes with Terra, "Well lucky you." She dryly sneered. Terra crossed her arms over her chest, "I want him back. These past few years have sucked and I felt, out place in my life. Like I had no one and nothing, and I think I know now it was because I didn't have Beast Boy. I want him back, even have to go through you."  Seeing the yellow eyes narrowed on her menacingly, Raven hissed, "His name is Beast, you do not call him anything else. And is that you threatening me?" Terra's hands flew to her throat in fear as her eyes turned blue, locking with the scary red that was now Raven's, "Because you won't live long throwing idle threats at me. Stay in your place little girl, or I make you wish you'd stayed stone." Raven released and then the others came in. Beast looked at a watery-eyed Terra and then turned to Raven dishing up breakfast. She pushed him into a sit as Terra stood up and mumbled, "I'm not hungry." Everyone watched her go before facing Raven who shined like the evening star and asked, "So what are the plans for the day?"
