"Ouf." Laurie huffs. I stare blankly at her. That's it? That's her big reaction? This is Laurie I've been telling everything to, right? I stare some more, but she seems lost in her own thoughts.
"That's it?" I finally ask. I'm not sure why, I should just take the reaction and be grateful that she doesn't push for even more information nor that she voices one of her 'brilliant' ideas that are meant to end in Alec and I getting together. Then why was I hoping for exactly that to happen? The one time I want Laurie to be Laurie, she goes all quiet and pensive on me. "Laurie, are you OK?"
