Essence was confused. Utterly and completely confused and more than a little frightened. The man standing in front of her, in his perfectly tailored suit, tie exquisitely tied and nary a hair out of place, regarding her and the handful of staff members with cold glares was not the man she’d fallen asleep with hours before. He was rigid, unyielding as he stood with his spine erect and his chin lifted. He motioned to her impatiently, “come.” She hurried to his side.
