Chapter 15 Baron White

1117 Words
A hotel room?! Rebecca was stimulated by these words. The bare-faced narcissistic rascal! More importantly, on her kind of level, Rebecca would have a crush on him?! A rascal?! Who gave him the confidence?! Besides, the way he was pretending to be shy now was really disgusting! At first, she wanted to slap this shameless man, but after a few seconds, she lost interest, and just glanced coldly at him who was immersed in fantasy, and said angrily, “Get out of the car!” The cool voice made Amos suddenly feel a chill. Not waited until Amos got off, Rebecca then asked the driver to drive away, and Amos almost fell off the car. But he was not angry at all and there was only a faint trace of the feeling of disappointment about what he had been dreamed was not it was. He turned around and looked at the luxury villa in front of him, feeling puzzled. Here was Rebecca’s home, but, after taking him here, she then just threw him here and went away. What did it mean? Thinking of the words that Rebecca had said before, Amos was getting cheerful again. She had said that someone wanted to see him. Would it be her parents?! That’s right! Her parents! However, he felt that something was wrong. He just had wanted to enjoy the one-night excitement, but meeting her parents? Would it be too fast? Did she really have a crush on him and want him to be her future husband? In this case, things were becoming a little troublesome. While Amos was daydreaming, the door of the villa opened from the inside, and an old man with silver hair came out and said to him kindly, “Sir, please come in, the lordling has been waiting for you for a long time.” Amos was extremely surprised. The master of the Whites?! The father of Rebecca?! His future father-in-law?! His present mood was quite strange and totally being confused. What the hell was going on?! But since he was here, he’d better relax. He checked his clothes and showed a very decent smile. “Thanks a lot! Lead the way, please!” “With pleasure. Just call me Andrew.” The old man smiled faintly, then turned around and guided Amos to walk towards the villa inside. The villa was very large and richly decorated. Amos could not help but whisper in mind. Such a beautiful house! So nice to be rich indeed! Connecting to the house his mother and little sister lived in, he felt a little sad. Life should be hard for them in these years. But then, he clenched his fists, secretly vowed: they had been lived difficultly because he had not been with them. But now, he came back, he would let them live a happy and safe life in the future! Andrew took Amos to the living room. A tall old man was sitting on the sofa, looking a little bit lonely. Compared with Andrew who should be about the same age, this old man was more weak and fragile. Andrew approached the old man and slightly bowed and whispered, “Here he is.” A wisp of light shone in the weak old man’s eyes. He slowly raised his head and looked directly at Amos. This old man should not be the father of Rebecca, and perhaps, the whole thing wasn’t what he had thought completely. Seeing that Amos just looking at him with proud humility in his eyes and also a smile on his face, the old man nodded with satisfaction and said with a smile, “Amos, have a seat.” Amos was at a loss. Who was this old man? How can he know his name? And his intuition told him that he wouldn’t be told by Rebecca by no means. Andrew served Amos a cup of coffee and then left. And there were only Amos and the weak old man in the living room. Amos gently picked up the cup and sipped the coffee. And then he looked at the old man and said, “Sir, can you tell me what it is for now?” He was now quite certain that it would not have been Rebecca’s idea to invite him here. The old man smiled and was about to speak, but he started to cough. Amos put down the cup and listened carefully to the old man’s cough. Then he frowned tightly. “Sir, do you have a lung problem?” The old man was stunned for a moment and controlled his cough. “You heard me. Just wait a minute, I...” Before finishing, Andrew then came over with a small bottle of medicine. After helping the old gentleman take the medicine, Andrew hurried away with an apologetic smile. “Let me introduce myself. I’m Baron White, the grandfather of Rebecca.” After taking the medicine, the state of Mr. White got better. Rebecca’s grandfather?! Amos froze for a moment and then frowned and asked, “Nice to meet you, Mr. Whites. But, with all due respect, what do you want to see me about?” “I asked you to come here to do me a favor, young man. Of course, it’s at your discretion whether to help or not. But I want you to think twice about it. Under the circumstances, I’m afraid you’re the only one who can help us.” There was a trace of vigilance in Amos’s mind. Thinking of the treasure Rebecca had tried so hard to protect from the Purple Widow, he probably knew what Mr. Whites wanted him to do. With a faint smile, Amos leaned on the sofa and drank the coffee slowly. Then, he raised his head and looked at Mr. Whites. “There might be some misunderstandings, Mr. Whites. I’m just a bum without a job, and I don’t have any power. I’m so sorry that I can’t help you. Find someone better qualified instead.” Hearing this, the old man was not nervous at all. He shook his head and said, “Mr. Wilson, you don’t need to hide your identity in front of me. I know how powerful you are, and I even know a little bit about the power you represent.” Amos’s eyes narrowed vigilantly. Someone knew about his unknown background in such a short time at home?! Was he a friend or a foe?
