It seemed that he had seen through Amos’s mind. He waved his hand and apologized, “Don’t worry, I won’t tell anyone about you. What’s more, I just hope that you can help to protect my daughter-in-law’s belongings. Nothing more requested.” However, Amos still felt that once he granted Mr. White’s request, the dream of peaceful life might dash to pieces. And the most important thing was that if he chose to take the job, the time he can use to accompany his mother and little sister would be much less, which was the last thing he wanted. Therefore, with almost no hesitation, he refused, “I’m sorry, Mr. White. I just want to spend my time with my family and I don’t want to be in the bloody vortex anymore. You know that as soon as accepting your delegation, I will fall back into the endless waves, and my hope to live a peaceful life will fail to attain. So, I regret that I cannot accept your request.” Finishing his words and being about to get up to leave. Although he did not know how this mysterious ola man knew his true identity, from his eyes, Amos cannot feel the sense of malice. He did not worry about what he might do to himself. By the way, he would not be afraid of anything even if the White family wanted to do something to him. He wanted to live peacefully and will not ask for trouble, but it didn’t mean he was afraid of trouble looking for him. Seeing that Amos was going to leave, Mr. White struggled to stand up with his weak body, and the tone was quite anxious, “Mr. Wilson, I’m driven desperate and can only ask you for help. Please! Help me! Help my family! If you promise to help, I can give you anything. I know you’re getting a good deal for a job like this. Here’s a check for five million dollars. Take it and consider it an advance.” Amos stopped for a moment. Five million was not a big sum for him, but if he had this money, he could let his mother and Alice live in a safe place and improve their quality of life. Honestly speaking, this check, to him, was a very big temptation. Although he believed, for sure, that with his abilities, earning five million dollars or more than that was just a matter of time, the problem was that what he lacked most right now was time too. His mother also didn’t have much time to wait for him to make money. Her leg needed rehabilitation after the treatment, otherwise, the consequences will be very serious. In case there were any sequelae, then it was meaningless to earn more money. Seeing that Amos was vacillating, Mr. White hurriedly took the chance to keep persuading, “Mr. Wilson, as long as you can ensure the safety of my granddaughter and her mother’s relics in this period of time, I am willing to pay a greater payment. Please think it twice.” Mt. White did have a knack for negotiating. He was actually anxious to death, he hadn’t said a word of coercion but just begged earnestly. And with the temptation of the check, Amos did hesitate. Now, the most important thing was his mother’s health and time was so urgent, he had no choice but to take the protection job. He turned, took the check, and said, “For the sake of this check, I’ll take the job.” Mr. White breathed a sigh of relief. And he instantly felt his breathing was much more smoothly. He did not think that Amos was a greedy man. The price to asked for Amos to do a mission was way more than five million dollars. If he really loved money, he can just ask for more. But he hadn’t. he just hurriedly took this check, presumably he was in difficulties that money can help. “Mr. White, I accept this task, but, because the protection object is your granddaughter. She seems to have some misunderstanding with me. Please explain it clear to her so that we can get along well with each other.” Hearing this, Mr. White thought of his granddaughter’s bad attitude towards Amos in front of him, not to mention when they were together alone. He then nodded and said, “Please forgive me, Mr. Wilson. Rebecca has been spoiled by us, but she is a good kid with a kind heart. Amos pulled the mouth and smiled. He also didn’t expect Mr. White can really change Rebecca’s bad attitude toward him originally, but this old man was also really doting on his granddaughter. “Well then. Mr. Wilson, is that all right with you to report on duty tomorrow?” Since Amos had taken the check, Mr. White hoped that he can come to his position as soon as possible. Amos nodded. “It’s OK. And I still have some personal affairs to deal with today. Tomorrow morning, eight o’clock. I will come and pick up Miss White. Please tell her about it, Mr. White, old gentleman, you inform her.” He had to send his mother to the hospital and also arranged for Alice before the task began. Otherwise, he would be too worried to rest assured to work. Mr. White smiled and nodded. “Very good! But you don’t need to come here to pick up Rebecca. She doesn’t live here. Here are her address and phone number. Mr. Wilson, I'm counting on you.” It was a little bit shame-making to have an old gentleman calling him Mr. Wilson. “A pleasure. Just call me by my first name. It sounds more genial. Don’t regard me as a great person, but as one of your juniors.” Mr. White smiled. “Well then. Amos, you haven’t got a car, haven’t you?” Amos nodded. “I don’t have one yet.” Mr. White then took out a car key and handed it over to Amos. “Then take this car. It will be more convenient to get back and forth.” Amos remembered the Mercedes Benz of Rebecca. He reminded me, “I remember that she has a car and a driver.” “That’s right. But Mike, the driver, will come back to accompany me. With you protecting Rebecca, I’m at ease.” Saying good-bye to Mr. White, Amos hurried toward his home. The most important at present was to send his mother to the hospital which cannot be delayed anymore. And when he arrived at the corner of his house, he saw Alice, who was with a face of full rage and rushed into the house angrily.
