“What do you mean he’s David and Lily’s son?” Molly asks Benjamin. “Did you know?”
He shakes his head, and I can tell from the look on his face that he indeed did not. He’s upset but trying to hold it together for Molly.
“How can you be sure?” she asks as her eyes glisten with tears. I can feel anxiety rising inside her, so I take her hand in mine, trying my best to remind her she’s not alone in this.
“I noticed something in Andrew, but I wasn’t sure. Magic has a special scent. It’s not strong, but it’s there. I know it in you and smelled it when you were pregnant with the twins. It smells different on Andrew, and it took a while to even smell it- but it’s the same on Jacob. It’s Lily’s scent, but it takes on a different scent on a male.”
