All the things that Christina does always has a reason. None of her actions are detached from the greater scheme of things that she is cooking up. Hence, even her plan of conquering the Hound pack first has a lot of reasons underlying it. And one of these is because there is a cave within this territory.

Gerald guided the group to the cave within Hound territory. Just like any other cave, there aren’t any monsters near it. In fact, just from looking at the opening of the cave, one might think that it’s actually abandoned. But it’s not. No cave is ever abandoned. There are always creatures lurking inside of it. Tested and proven through the passage of time by the experience of the fortunate few who are able to come out of this place alive.
