Don't Be Alarmed

It was three days later Jasinda was taking a bubble bath when her phone rang. She frowned seeing it was one of her pseudo friends from the office and answered, "Hey Cheryl, what's up?" The busy body, mom of three immediately began a mean and very messy tirade about another  old co worker of there's.  Apparently EVERYONE was so sick of getting Kennedy's pajama or sweats quarantine selfies on their timeline and someone finally told her to stop posting them. Which of course started this whole online thing on social media.  Jasinda honestly found the whole thing trivial. The only reason why Cheryl and all the other older women had been such a cunt to Kennedy was because she was a young sexy ass single mom that gave all their husbands boners.  So of course they ganged up on the younger woman like she was a witch and this was The Crucible.  Jasinda slid deeper in the hot water enjoying the heat running through her body when Leo walked in. He held up a blunt and Jasinda c****d an eyebrow, "Where did you get that?" Leo shrugged, "Care package from Shadow. Fancy a smoke?"  Jasinda shrugged, "Give me a second." Leo left her to get dressed but after he left Cheryl amped up the questions now fully focused on Jasinda. "Was that a man's voice? Who are you quarantining with? I didn't know you had a boyfriend! What did he ask you if you wanted to do?"  Jasinda exhaled, "He's an old friend, and nothing. Talk to you later Cheryl." Hanging up before the blonde could throw MORE questions at her, Jasinda left the bored mom pouting in defeat. Jasinda wasn't an i***t though, even though the company had been closed because of corona, she knew that the same people were still keeping up their antics of office bullying out of sheer boredom.  Since they're marriages all suck and their spoiled brats were home all day, she knew the Cunty Cheryls, Crazy Karens, and Messy Mollies, would still be trying to stir work drama. Even at home. Because they had nothing better to do than wreck everyone's quarantine with unnecessary drama.  And she did not want to be one of their discussions over wine and kids hollering in the background.  Getting dressed, Jasinda walked in Leo's basketball shorts and her sports bra and found him rolling up a back wood. He had a couple ounces of weed on the bed in a clear plastic bag, numerous tobacco free rolling papers around him.  "Why did Shadow send you all this?" Jasinda asked looking at the weed, the food, and the other odds and ends. Leo shrugged, "Said he felt bad because I had did my part but the bank is holding up the wire transfer because of Corona. The amount is too large and it won't process like how it's supposed to. But he told me not to worry. For now, he bank rolling a bad habit of mine."  Jasinda looked at the enormous weed mound. "Weed?" Leo shrugged, "I've always had bad depression, not to mention other issues. At first I took all these medications like when I was a kid. But when I found out weed did the same thing but with less side effects, I switched."  Jasinda nervously slid on the bed as he rolled and Leo's eyes snapped up to meet her uncomfortable gaze. "You don't like this, I can get rid-." Jasinda shook her head, "NO! No, I'm not judging you!" She said quickly.  Leo looked at her seriously, "But if you don't feel comfortable with this. If you don't like I smoke, I won't." Jasinda smiled happy he was willing to give up bad habits for her. But she wasn't going to stop him from pain managing how he'd been doing for years to suit her.  Besides weed, she could handle. Anything else? She's out.  "Look if you want to smoke weed, go ahead...just nothing else okay?" Leo kissed Jasinda sweetly before whispering, "Never." Jasinda smiled and kissed him back and he pressed one last kiss to her cheek before going back to rolling.  As he put a blunt to his mouth, Leo kept rolling as he asked, "So you never smoked before?"  Jasinda got hot in the face and shrugged, "Once...but it didn't work out." Leo looked at her confused, "What do you mean?" Jasinda exhaled, "I always felt...white washed growing up. I've been called bogie and Oreo a thousand and ten times each. When I was a teenager though it really bothered me. I tried to portray who I thought everyone wanted to see. But it was hard, especially around my mom's family."  Leo was confused so Jasinda explained, "My mama was from the projects. Like straight ghetto diva, and when she rose up from that place she rarely went back. But when I turned fifteen she chose then to reach out and started taking me around my cousins and stuff. But we were all different, they thought I was weird and they wouldn't let it go. When I would come they stopped talking to me, would ignore me when I asked them stuff."  Leo looked for a lighter so he could light his blunt but his baby reached into her night stand and pulled out a lighter. Lighting his blunt, Leo puffed as Jasinda mumbled, "One of my cousins though, her name is Aisha  (I-EESH-A), and she was a year older than me. She took me under her wing and taught me how to a black teenager in the projects."  Leo didn't like the sound of that and he was right too.  "Soon I'm breaking laws, and staying out all night with her and friends. One night I went with them to a party, I smoked a blunt with them because everyone else was doing it. But I felt awful and I was overwhelmed being surrounded by strangers. So I freaked and called Malcolm, he came and got me and held my hair back when I puked."  Leo blew a string of smoke and said, "Well the problem is you tried getting high for the first time surrounded in a place you already didn't like and then you got high with people who could have easily laced the blunt. Probably why you had a bad reaction."  Jasinda accepted the blunt and when she inhaled for the for first time she took it slow. Blowing it out, Jasinda coughed delicately and Leo laughed as she did again before passing it back. Inhaling, Leo did O's awing Jasinda as she watched them fade away.  Leo and Jasinda got baked and ended up watching Sense 8 on Netflix. As they ate junk food and focused on the show, Jasinda answered her phone lazily, "Hello?" Malcolm's voice filled her ear, "Me and Shadow are heading to the house."  Jasinda sat up, "Wait what? Now? Why, what's wrong?" Malcolm looked at his annoyed boss and said, "We've just had to move some stuff up sis, don't worry. I got you." Jasinda looked at Leo who was putting on a shirt and some joggers and tossed her some stuff. Seeing how she was only in little boy shorts and a sports bra.  "Okay. See you when you get here." Jasinda said as she put a shirt on. Malcolm hung up as he looked at Shadow, "Don't worry man, our families will be protected." Shadow said seriously. Malcolm blew out a breathe, "Yeah."  When they got to the house, Leo and Jasinda had gotten dressed and straightened up a tiny bit as they sat in waiting. When Malcolm walked in, Leo looked at Shadow and nodded, "Sha-." Jasinda looked at the man surprised, "Darius? What are you doing here cuz?"  All three men looked at her nervously and Jasinda swallowed as she felt a ball of worry sit on her stomach.  Darius Prince, Aka Shadow, looked at his little cousin carefully, "Cuz...there is something you need to know."
