America, The Murderer

Jasinda watched Darius walk into the living room and couldn't help but look at him in surprise. "It's been a while big cuz. I've asked Aunt Kaitlyn about you, but she'd just tell me you were fine." Darius looked at his little cousin for a moment, "I haven't talked to my mama in years. Not since she let that bastard she called a husband put his hands on my sister."  Jasinda winced, "How is Erica?" Darius exhaled, "Fine...but you know how she gets..." Jasinda slowly nodded and looked at her older brother who was staring at Leo kind of funny. "Malcolm, what are you doing?" Malcolm looked at her for a moment and then back at Leo, "What did you tell her?"  Leo sighed, "The bare minimum. Stuff about me, what happened when I went to jail...or at least why they said I went to jail. Not the real reason."  Jasinda was starring confused and Darius looked at his little cousin worried she'd be hurt to hear the truth. But she couldn't afford to be left in the dark.  Malcolm sighed and walked over to his sister and Jasinda stared up at him, "So you know I accidentally killed someone yes?" Jasinda slowly nodded and Malcolm exhaled, "The reason why the people who came after us did, was because they were hired to try and kill Leo."  Jasinda looked at Leo who was looking at her with fear, "Why...?" She whispered. Leo exhaled softly, "I lied to you...about one thing. Because the fact that it ties into all of this." Jasinda shook her head as Leo whispered, "I do know my father. He's name is Gabriel Johnson." Jasinda froze, "Isn't that..."  Leo nodded, "A  former U.S Senate."  Jasinda looked at him feeling like she could see this was going to get even worse from here on out. "Oh god Leo, what is this!?" Leo exhaled, "When I was twenty, I robbed a warehouse that had been deserted. Or so I thought anyway,"  Leo met Jasinda's horrified eyes and winced but kept going," It turned out to be this top secret, heavily funded, government warehouse. I found nothing but money, guns, and all these files. I took it all, and I dipped out. When I got home, I counted twenty thousand dollars and I read those files."  Leo swallowed hard, "And what I found was appalling,"  Malcolm stepped forward, "Leo found hard core evidence that there was a secret government unofficial program that made it their personal mission to stamp out the swell in population increase."  Jasinda jerked back, "Whoa wait what?!" Malcolm nodded seeing the gears going in his sister's head, "Some politicians secretly started drilling in the North Pole for oil but what they instead dead effected the thermal pocket under the North Pole which is now causing global warming."  Jasinda rubbed her eyes tiredly, "And here I thought it was plastic bottles in the ocean." Leo walked to her, "I tracked my pops down because his name was involved in the project. I had only known his name on the birth certificate, but when I asked my momma she said it was him."  Leo swallowed hard as he told her the brazen truth, "The corona virus was at first designed to make "certain populations" dolce, compliable. But it instead mutated and was documented instead as a bio weapon of mass terror.  It was being held in a contained facility until a secret head in the office, ordered it to be released."  Jasinda looked at her brother and cousin and they nodded to confirm Leo's words. "Okay so the U.S government made a bioweapon, got it.  But why infect their own country?" Malcolm looked at his little sister, "Because if it was just international enemies, it would have been seen as a sign of war. We'd have been nuked into oblivion."  Darius put down his laptop and opened it for Jasinda to show her some graphs. "The intention of the Corona Virus strand is purposely misleading now though. It's flat base material was that of a common cold, but when applied to a certain genetic material, it becomes a deadly virus. One capable of mutating and killing thousands, seeing this as "   Jasinda blew out a breath slowly, "So...the government is trying to kill off minorities? Shocking... so what's going to happen? Is there a vaccine?"  Darius looked at Leo who nodded, "The vaccine is in our blood. Mine, Malcolm's, and Leo's." Darius said looking back at Jasinda carefully. Jasinda looked at Malcolm and Leo, "H-how?" Malcolm looked at his little sister worried, "Hold on a sec little sis, we can't skip too far ahead..."  Jasinda nodded and Darius kept going, "When Leo told his father what he found, his father told him to forget it and never speak of it. Covered Leo's trail and sent him to California to disappear into the crowds of young and dumb twenty-somethings."  "But he then met our cousin Darius.  Who is a businessman working for a secret organization that protects the world from the men doing this." Jasinda was staring at Darius wide-eyed and whispered, "So your like Will Smith in Men In Black?"  Darius nodded fighting a smile, "Yes but this organization is around to stop injustice in office, injustice in law enforcement, injustice to the earth. We have the best scientist and some strong political ties."  Jasinda held up a finger, "Then why did Leo spend two years in jail?" Leo walked forward to Jasinda, "Because I told Malcolm something. And he told the origination, which tipped off government officials about me."  Jasinda let Leo take her hands as she asked, "What did you tell him?" Leo swallowed hard, "I had read documents. Documents about the 2009 election." Jasinda's eyes widened as Leo admitted, "I saw that there had been plans for the virus to be sent over and used in Iraq as a diplomatic weapon. A plague so to speak."  Jasinda nodded so Leo continued, "But when Barak Obama joined the office, all plans to stop the operations were canceled as his signature to run the pilot program was needed. And from what we can gather he of course said no."  Malcolm nodded, "But the moment they got him out of office, they put someone on the chair who would do as they wanted. But now that it seems their puppet won't be re-elected, they ok'd sending the virus out among the public to finish what he started. Get rid of the minorities, limit population, and fix their f**k up in the North."  Darius pulled up forms, "They at first tried to prove Obama unfit for office, tried to find dirt in his past. But when they couldn't force him to bow out they tried to rig the box office. But we had seen it coming and tipped it back. Which clued them in that someone knew, they did some digging and it came back to Leo."  Malcolm rubbed his hand against his slacks hard as if to rub the memory off, "That night the government sent out hired guns to kill Leo. But I hit one upside the head and a neighbor next to ours they didn't know like to stay late caught them lurking. So the police showed up before they could kill us."  Leo looked at Jasinda scared now, "I was sent to jail because I said one part of their plan. My dad tried to get me out, but they refused. After I was moved to the Canadian prison, a week before covid-19 broke out, I heard from a government official, they told me I would be spared if I didn't fight. And then I was sprung."  Jasinda was in a state of disbelief and shock. "So...the corona virus was going to be a bio hazard of a weapon used in war. Our leading government officials are conspiring to kill us off, Leo some how managed to find it, was sent to prison from stopping it sooner, and...did I forget something?"  Malcolm looked at his sister carefully, "Sis I know that was a lot we just threw at you...but we're not even done."  Jasinda looked at his brother scared, "And what else could you possibly throw at me?" Leo looked at his woman in fear, "I stole a vial of the serum needed to survive covid-19, and when we were able to get a scientist to recreate it, Darrius and Malcolm took it to."  Jasinda nodded slowly, "And that's a bad thing?"  Darrius sighed, "Yes, because there are people looking to kill all of us for what we know. And now they'll be trying to kill you. Which is why we came here early to get you." Jasinda exhaled and looked at her brother, cousin, and lover.  "Well, fuck." Jasinda breathed out as all three men stared at her in sympathy.
