The Secret (Not So Secret) Secret Organization

Jasinda had still a thousand and one questions, but she let her brother and cousin sleep after hearing they'd driven twelve hours, and flew on a private jet to get to them.  Sitting with Leo in the living room, Jasinda and him talked in low voices as she asked, "So how was your daddy tied to all this?" Leo breathed out, "When my dad was the U. S. Senator of Chicago, he was one of the few who knew about the project in Arctica but didn't proceed in."  Jasinda nodded, "You said they were digging for oil?" Leo nodded as he remembered the documents, "Oil was one of the biggest money brackets at the time. They were trying to find one they could stamp their name on. But what they did instead ruptured something, which is causing the artic to now thaw."   Leo rubbed a hand over his head, "The earth can't repair itself from all the damage it's going through and instead of fixing it, they lied and said it was the pollution, which didn't help but wasn't the cause. And then it was over population, again didn't help but wasn't the cause."  Jasinda sighed as she stroked the back of Leo's hand with her thumb, "And now?" Leo looked at Jasinda carefully, "Now the parties responsible, for the artic thaw and now the corona virus, want to go ahead and finish off what they started. They want to do a clean slate without certain people. We're waiting for the right moment, for when them to make their move, so we can make ours. We have a way to make it all go away, for things to be put back in order."  Leo smiled a little at the thought and Jasinda grinned.  They took a walk in the woods and when they came back Malcolm and Darius had slept and was now awake. It was going on four in the evening, so they waited another hour before having dinner.  After settling at the table, Jasinda looked at her cousin as she asked, "So you work for this secret organization for black people? Kind of like Undercover Brother, but less disco?" Darius laughed, "No, it's not an organization for just black people. It's a organization where minorities are equal and present at the head of the table."  Jasinda looked at him curiously, "So did you have to do like a bunch of tests? Like catch knives blind folded? Dive from like twenty thousand feet in the air?" Darius fought laughter at his cousins eager questions.  She'd always had an overactive imagination.  "No cuz. I'm not some spy with gadgets and secret missions." Jasinda pouted, "Ah, lame." Darius snorted as Leo and Malcolm both laughed. Jasinda ignored their laughter and asked Darius, "So how did you get in? Did you like fall down a pot hole and get sucked into this organization?"  "It was something I was born into Jasinda," Darius said chuckling as he took a drink of his beer, "My dad was in the Society so when it was my turn I took it with honor." Jasinda looked at Darius surprised, "Whoa wait, Uncle Reggie was a society member too?" Darius nodded, "He was on the head panel. Like I am, like Malcolm is for his father, and how Leo will be once we finish doing what we have to."  Jasinda exhaled, "So how does it work? Is there like a thousand of you guys? What do you all do specifically? Is there women or just men?"  Darius grinned as he looked at Malcolm was shaking his head chuckling. "Yes there is women, yes there is a lot of us, and what we do is try to maintain balance and respect among everyone." Darius said seriously. "Our world is falling apart but all we do is continue to f**k it up living these lives built off lies and blood."  Jasinda watched her cousin eat a bite of lasagna, drink a pull of his beer before saying, "We're tasked with fixing it and because of Leo finding out what he did, when he did, we have had time and ample opportunity to get semi prepared for what's next."  Leo looked at Darius curious, "If you don't mind me asking Shadow, where is Erica? Is she okay?" Darius nodded smiling, "Yeah she's fine. She's in my home in Italy. Her nurses are with her, so she'll be fine until I get back."  Leo nodded and Darius turned back to Jasinda as she asked, "And where do we go from here? I mean that's what I'm confused about? We're just going to stay in quarantine knowing what we know? People are getting sick and dying everyday, and you three have the cure in your blood."  Darius nodded, "Exactly, and if we try to come forward now, they'll scrap and kill everything before it can be proven and we're the ones left crying wolf. And they'll make everyone think we're lying about the cure. We can't risk showing all our cards without nothing. We need them to blink first."  Jasinda nodded slowly trying to keep up, "So...okay." Darius chuckled as Leo stroked her head, "It's going to be okay baby. Just know you're safe." Jasinda sighed, "Then I can't worry about anything else right now. My brain freaking hurts."  Three men laughed at her and then Malcolm's phone pinged and he immediately texted back whoever texted him. Soon, Malcolm is no longer eating and instead typing on his phone as he went back and forth with someone.  A someone who made him smile as he chuckled a little at whatever they talked about.  After ten minutes of texting, Malcolm realized no one had said a word and looked up to find his sister, friend, and cousin all looking at him. "What?" Jasinda c****d an eyebrow, "Okay I'm going to be nosey and ask again, who is this girl your texting? What partner's daughter?"  Immediately Darius perked up and looked at Malcolm, "So you found Jade then?" Malcolm sighed, "Yeah but there was a tiny hiccup." he admitted. Darius frowned, "What?"  "She had a half sister. A little two year old who thinks she's her mother." Darius shook his head slowly, "So she's got a sister huh? Well not factored but we're not leaving her obviously." Malcolm laughed a little, "Yeah Jade isn't the same girl man. She'd stab our eyes out if we tried to leave her little sister."  Darius's smirk became devilish as he taunted, "Is that you over there gushing lil cuz?" Malcolm rolled his eyes, "Don't make me punch you in the throat." Darius laughed as he looked at Jasinda, "I think your big bro got a crush." Jasinda smirked playing along, "Makes sense why he keeps smiling and texting on his phone, ignoring us."  Malcolm scowled at his sister as Leo came to his defense, "Leave him alone y'all."  Both Jasinda and Darius laughed as Malcolm shot Leo a look of appreciation that Darius didn't miss. So he had no choice but to torture his little cousin a little more. "Did you ask her to finally return the favor?"  Malcolm gave Darius a look of death making him hold up his hands in surrender as both Leo and Jasinda stared on confused.  But as dinner was soon over, they all started to clear their dirty plates away and go get into bed when all four of their phones rang. All four stopped and when they all answered at the same time, all froze as they heard a creepy voice modifier yell at them, "GET OUT OF THE HOUSE! NOW!"  It took a half a second but then Leo and Malcolm were pulling Jasinda down into the basement with Darius following behind them. Jasinda's eyes widened when  Malcolm opened a little door behind the hot water tank. After they all climbed in Darius closed it behind them as Malcolm whispered, "No lights, keep your voices low and stay close."  They were soon running through the long tunnel for what like years in endless nothingness. They at first heard footsteps over there heads.  But then they faded and after a while, they all came out in the forest.  Malcolm told them all to kill their phones real quick so they all tossed their phones and continued through the woods.  Jasinda was only wearing Nike slides and socks so she was slipping in mud as she tried to keep up with the taller and more athletic men in her mist. After felt like ten hours trapping in the dark woods, they came up to what look like a deserted farm house.  Instead of going inside like she thought they would, they instead went over to the side where a truck sat covered.  "Leo did you put everything in here?" Jasinda looked at Leo who nodded at Malcolm's question as he helped uncover the truck. It turned out to be a very large shiny black F-150. They all climbed in shivering and achy.  Darius drove, fast and brutal down the dirt road. He kept a low profile driving through the village to head for the airport hanger.  Malcolm used phones stored and already activated with charge to call both his head security advisor and Darius sister's head nurse. Having them moved to the safe house, Malcolm looked back at his sister in Leo's arms looking a little sickly.  "You okay sis?" Jasinda looked at her brother a little shaken, "No. What the hell was that?" Malcolm looked at her and seriously said, "We told you, we're better off dead to some powerful people then be alive and knowing what we know."  Jasinda breathed out, "So who just called to warn us?" Malcolm smiled a little, "No telling sis, we have political ties too. High ones who want things to be done right for a change, not for their names to be on every news channel saying he changed something.  But to stand for actual change."  Malcolm looked as they started to pull in at the air hanger and told his sister, "We're going to finish off quarantine somewhere else."  Jasinda slowly nodded, "Okay."  Minutes later they were boarding the private jet and taking off down the runway.
