POV: Naomi The bar was quiet. So quiet that it almost felt unnatural. I stood behind the counter, leaning slightly against it as my eyes moved slowly around the room. One. Two. Three. I could count every single customer in the bar on one hand. And I meant that literally. I let out a slow breath. “Wow…” The last person who walked in had come in about an hour and thirty minutes ago. That was a new record. At this point, it almost felt like the customers had meetings somewhere, deciding when to fill up the place and when to leave it empty. Tonight was definitely one of those empty nights. And for once… I didn’t like it. Because silence— Silence gave my mind space. And right now… That was the last thing I needed. I rubbed my fingers against my temple and let out a breath.
