Jace The fake FBI badge felt heavy in my pocket as we walked up to the crime scene. Eden had done good work on the fake IDs. Her magic made them look real enough to fool anyone. She even used the shadow shield to alter our faces to prevent us from being recognized, especially on herself with her tattoos that might give her away. "Remember," I said quietly, "we're federal agents looking into a possible serial killer." "I know," Eden whispered back. Her voice was tight with nerves. The police had the whole block taped off.
