Hybrid - The Demon's Soulmate

*Trigger warning: Read with caution* Jamie took the blade out of her wallet after finishing the noose. Everything seemed settled. Her family was stable. The job had been left properly behind, and she had a chance to see all of her friends one last time. Closing her eyes, Jamie took another swig of vodka. Her gaze briefly shifted to the sleeping pills she bought alongside prescribed antidepressants. They had never worked, leaving Jamie to wrestle with self-loathing, feeling beyond salvation. Alone in her room, Jamie sensed an intense stare but dismissed it, attributing it to the vodka. She reached for the blade and ran it across both arms, feeling her blood pulse down her skin. Inhaling sharply, she swallowed the prescription drugs with the remainder of the vodka. Already bleeding profusely, her head grew light. Struggling to reach her only chair, she climbed it and placed the noose around her neck. "I'm sorry," were Jamie's final words as she kicked the chair. She struggled for breath, and then everything went black. — Jamie gasped, opening her eyes to find herself in a dark room with a bed beneath her. Sitting up, she saw the faint light from a nearby lamp post outside. "I'm alive," Jamie thought, her heart racing. Ahead of her, a woman appeared. Her long black hair cascaded elegantly over her bare white shoulders. Her lips were full and red, her turned-up nose perfectly placed. But her eyes... they were completely white, both fascinating and terrifying. "Who are you?" Jamie asked, fear coursing through her. Her heart raced, and she remained frozen, tracking the woman's every move. "I am Elise." "What are you? I was supposed to be dead. I failed again." Jamie's eyes started to burn, but Elise's hands reached out to touch her face. Her touch took her breath away. "You didn't fail, my love. You died. But I couldn't let you stay dead," Elise said, her voice filled with both pain and a strange relief at seeing Jamie again. "What did you do to me?" Jamie accused. "I brought your heart back to life. I've been watching over you since the day you were born. You are meant to be mine, just as I am meant to be yours," Elise replied. "What are you?" "I am a fallen angel. And I am yours, Jamie." "Stop fuckin with me," Jamie snapped, earning a smirk from Elise. "I haven't even started yet. And I will love you, not just fuck you," she teased. Jamie couldn't take it anymore and pushed her to the floor. Surprisingly, she felt stronger than ever before. But Elise was fast. In an instant, she was back in front of Jamie. Inside Jamie, a storm of emotions brewed—anger, pain, and confusion. Jamie felt herself growling, like a threatened dog. She bared her teeth, feeling the tips of her teeth pierce her lower lip. "What have you done to me, you monster?" Jamie demanded. Elise simply smiled, and what happened next left Jamie without words and struggling for breath. She unfurled her spectral wings—white with streaks of black. "You are now a hybrid, my Jamie, and my soulmate."
