LILY “Here we go,” Connor beamed as he secured Evan in his car seat. “All set to go home, buddy.” I felt a smile spread across my face too: our pup was fast asleep, a peaceful look on his little face, clutching the teddy bear Alex had made from one of the bathroom towels tightly in his hand. His deep sleep was thanks to Connor: he had managed to put him to sleep in a matter of minutes, whereas it had always taken me at least an hour since he was born.
