“Hello ladies? Dinner is served, you should be headed downstairs.” Mrs. Montero said and we were left with no choice but to head downstairs for dinner.

Dinner was always served in the dining room and everyone was expected to be there, Kenadi, Talia and I walked down the stairs, my head was in turmoil, too many thoughts. I didn’t know whether it was okay to tell my sister and cousin about what dad had told me in the recordings or I was just to leave it until it was the right time.

“Feel free my lovely girls, and by the way you guys should sleep early because we will have a long day tomorrow, I talked to one of my lawyers to represent you guys in court but then I have a private investigator whom I talked to and he agreed to do a thorough check on this case, so everything is going to be okay and you guys will finally get the justice you need, I’ll make sure you do “ she said and I kind of felt like we had found an angel, she was heavenly sent

“Thank you Mrs. Montero, I really appreciate your help, I just don’t know how much I’m going to say thank you but first for allowing us to stay, I’ll be looking from a house so we can rent” I said because I was already feeling like a burden to her.

“No, no need to move out, I’m going to host for as long as I can, you guys will stay here, you going to the same school as Pedro right?” she asked

“Yes we do school together, in the same class but except for my cousin Kenadi, she schools in the neighborhood” I said and she thought for a while before she finally looked up with a smile on her face and I was left wondering what was running on her mind

“Well I think I have an idea of what we going to do, what if we make you change schools for you? What do you think?” Mrs. Montero asked Kenadi

“I’m okay with that Mrs. Montero, I appreciate your efforts and your help, it would be much easier if we going to the same school, that will also ensure our safety” Kenadi said and we all agreed with her, it would be much easy if we went to the same school

“Yes mom I agree with her, it would be easier to go to school when we all together that will ensure all of our safety” Pedro said and that was the end of the discussion.

The rest of the dinner was quiet just the clicking of spoons and the sound of the forks and glasses.

After dinner we all went to our rooms, Pedro asked me to remain behind since he had something to tell me, I asked Talia and Kenadi to go and I was going to follow them after a few minutes

“I just wanted to officially give you my condolences, I know a lot has happened in the last few days and it’s a lot for you, I just want to tell you that nothing is going to change between us, I’m going to be there for you as always and I will help whenever I can, and one thing I’m going to make sure is your safety, you are my priority, we going to get justice for your family, no matter what, I love you Danelya” Pedro said

“Thanks for being there for me, I appreciate your moms efforts, I don’t know how much I’m going to repay you guys, I love you too Pedro” I said and hugged him as I cried on his shoulders ,we remained in that state for a few minutes before he finally kissed me goodnight and walked me to our supposed room, I found Talia and Kenadi still not asleep

“Hey sis how you feeling right now?” I asked oblivious of the reply

“I feel like crap, honestly why did mom and mom leave us so early? They didn’t deserve to die such a cruel death, I watched that car burning to ashes and I kind of felt bad, those are our parents Danny , they didn’t do anything for Christ’s sake! They were all innocent, mom and dad never hurt a fly, and in this world I just realized that it’s the good people that die innocently ad the bad people remain behind to torment others, sometimes God is so unfair” Talia said and Kenadi shushed her

“Shush sis, I know it’s hard right now but don’t question God, He is always right and I’m so sure He has great plans for us, we have lost the only relatives we had but I believe the future is bright” Kenadi said and I joined them for a hug, I knew we were all going through a lot but we didn’t have to give up that soon, we had to be strong for our late parents and our grandma if not for ourselves

“Kenadi is right sis, I know this is sad and I’m so curious to know who killed our family, I’m hurt to see that just in a span of a few days, we have lost everything and we back to square zero, life can just turn around until you start questioning Gods existence but the truth of the matter is that we can’t really question Him, we just have to let go and fight for dads, moms, and grandmas justice, I need you to b strong” I said to her and she nodded her head in agreement

We spent the rest of thirty minutes talking and reminiscing about our past memories until we all fall asleep, but something happened at night which left us even more scared than before, just in the middle of the night an alarm went off, I didn’t know what was happening or let me just say we were all unaware of what was going on until Mrs. Montero fed us in.

So apparently there was a security glitch, there were guys who were trying to get into the compound but the security at that place was so tight, that’s why the alarm went off and the police came immediately

“I still think those guys saw you two driving in here did they?” Mrs. Montero asked and I was clueless until Pedro chipped to help me

“No I don’t think so; I personally lost them on the main highway so I don’t think it’s them”

“And what if they are the ones? You know we’ve never had any security glitch before, have we?”

“No mum why do you think those are the guys who were after us are the ones who are still trying to get in? Not will really want to mess with you” Pedro said and his mom agreed with him somehow

“Danny, are you sure you are not trying to hide something? Why would they follow you around like lost puppies?"

“I don’t understand Mrs. Montero, I don’t think I have anything suspicious, unless they want to kidnap me and kill me like they killed my family, they are not satisfied with what they did, they want to kill so they can take all that belongs to us” I said bravely and she nodded

“Well I think you should go to rest, we have a long day tomorrow, we will check into the matter tomorrow” she said and hugged the both of us and went upstairs to her room, I started walking towards our room but Pedro dragged me to his room

“What are you trying to do? Your mom can hear us” I said trying to make him understand that what he was trying to do was wrong but he wasn’t even listening to me

“She won’t unless you want her to” he said and crashed his lips on mine and I lost my balance, my legs were feeling jelly like and I think I was going to lose my mind

“I just want you to sleep here tonight, we not going to do anything if that is what you are worried about, I just want you to tell me how you feel and what is on your mind, I’m here for you remember?” he said and I was lost, I needed a shoulder to lean on but I wasn’t sure if I was making a wrong choice at the moment

“What if your mom finds us?” I asked fearing for the worst that could happen if she found us

“She won’t, let me be worried about that will you?”

"I just don't understand why they died, what they do? And what about us? Are we even safe? If that’s what they did to papa and mama what about us? Do you think they are going to spare us?" She asked

"That is why we are here Talia, Pedro's mom Mrs. Montero offered us to stay here and she looks into the matter, we are not safe out there"

"I'm so scared, I think they are watching us" she said and I kind of agreed with her but I wouldn't show it

"We going to be safe here, for as long as we stay here, I can guarantee you our safety" I said and she nodded in agreement and just then the bedroom door was knocked
