"What are you two doing on the road at this time of the day?" One of the police officers asked and i tensed in my seat, in my whole life i had never encountered a police officer, not on that matter

"Ooh sorry my girlfriend and I were just getting ready to leave, no issue" Pedro answered his eyes focused on the police officers who all the whole was looking at me and scrutinizing the whole car

"And what is that smell?" He said while scrunching his nose

"What smell?' Pedro asked obliviously

"Don't act stupid, wait is that blood, have you kidnapped her" he asked and gave Pedro a hard look

"No he has not kidnapped me, I'm his girlfriend, and about the blood, i just had a little scratch on my hand no big deal" i said while trying to sound convincing as possible

"How old are you"

"I'm seventeen" Pedro answered

"And what about you young girl?"

"I'm sixteen" i said shyly

"You see, i knew you were minors now what are two doing with a car on the road?"

"We were just having a drive that's all"

"Without a driving license?"

"I'm sorry officer but i was to get my driving license in the end of next month, I'll be turning eighteen" Pedro said but the officer heard none of it.

"You should not be driving without a driving license at this time of the night, now I'll go with you at the police station you have to serve as an example to the ret of the teenagers taking the road rules for granted, drive to the police station" he said and motioned his other colleague to remain behind as he accompanied us to the police station, i was already tensed and my hands were literally shaking out of fear, Pedro realised and used one of his other hand to softly run my knuckles assuring me that everything was going to be okay

Pedro drove at a moderate speed on the highway as i kept looking through the side mirrors. Just then Pedro stopped the car on the roadside

"What happened? Why are you stopping the car? We were supposed to go to the police station?" He asked and Pedro gave him a bored look

"Well your lift just ended up from here, you can call a taxi or an Uber, now get out of my car before i get you out" Pedro said and at one point i was surprised at how quick he had changed his mood

"Young man do you know whom you're talking to? Now listen to me, i want you to get back in this car and drive to the police station,you are in the wrong and you keep on talking to me anyhow you wish" he said sounding pissed and i was just there watching the drama unfold, I'm too surprised to comment.

"Well this is my car and the last time i checked,I'm the one to decide who to drive with us and who not to, so get out"

"Or else what, I'm going to call back up"

"You wouldn't dare!" Pedro shouted at him and i cringed back in fear. I had never seen him so angry before, he was always the quiet and calm type but that version of him was something i didn't expect.

"Hmm...let's make a deal then, why don't you drive to the police station, you two have committed a crime and it's law you get convicted for what you did, the you can drive your car to wherever you want" the police officer tried to negotiate but Pedro was hearing none of it

He immediately got in the car and literally dragged the police officer out of the car, the police tried struggle but Pedro was too strong for him. He hit him hard on his jaw and the police officer groaned in pain.

"You stupid son of a b***h! You will pay for this"

"Yeah sure, just stay away from me or her, i will kill you if you move any close to her or me or this car for that matter" Pedro said and kicked his groan before he asked me to get in an we drove off to his house. It was around nine we got back to the house. Everything was quiet, seemed like everybody had gone to sleep or they were in their quarters. Pedro parked the car just beside his and he motioned me to follow him, all that while i was quiet i didn't know what to tell him, i had just witnessed him assaulting a police officer and my mind was just in turmoil, i mean he has just asked me to be his girlfriend and i already said yes,things happened so fast and i lost my virginity to him, not like i regret anything because i was in for it but it just happened so fast, turning sixteen and here i was already messing up with a guy whom i thought was a man enough, little did i know he was just hiding his real character, was i really going to cope up with his behavior? I had just dug myself a pit i was to get in myself

"Danny what are you thinking?" He asked me bringing me back to earth from my reverie. He had gone to warm up the food for us because i was feeling hungry, i just wanted to eat, take a gold shower before i went to sleep,i just had a long day

"Nothing much, just thinking about what i will tell dad when he asks about my whereabouts, my phone went off and he had been calling me nonstop, i just don't know what to say to him" i said while burying my head in my arms thoughtfully.

"Don't worry about that, I'm going to give him a call and explain everything to him, I'm the one that asked for permission to take you so I'll bear the cross, meanwhile i just want you to do me a favour please" he said and i gave a questioning look

"What favour?"

"Well first i want you to relax, go take a shower i made a warm bubble bath for you, i know you will love it then you can come downstairs we take dinner before you go to sleep,but as you gone I'm going to call your father and explain everything to him, how is that?" He asked while winking at me

"Well sounds like a good plan" i said while smiling and he helped me upstairs to his room, i was used to taking shower sometimes form his bathroom so it wasn't a big deal, he handed me a new towel from the closet and i head to the bathroom, true to his words he had made a bubble bath for me, just like i loved it.

It took me about half an hour before i got out of the bathroom feeling fresh and clean. I went back to his room and he has put some clean sweat pants and a pair of T-shirt and his hoodie on the bed. I took my time smearing oil on my body.

I put the dirty clothes in the laundry bucket and just as i was about to go out of the room, Pedro came in running

"What is wrong?" I asked confuses

"It's your dad he wants to talk to you, he said it was was urgent" he whispers and my heart starts beating furiously against my chest. I hoped nothing was wrong at home

"Dad? What is wrong?" I asked

"Its me honey" mom answered a little bit shaken and I immediately knew there was something wrong

"What is wrong mom?"

"It's your sister Talia"

"What happened to her?" I asked alarmed and mom broke the sad news to me, i didn't expect because it came as a shocker to me

"She was shot" she broke the news to me and my mouth hanged

"She was what!"

"She was shot honey, I'm so tensed i don't know if she is going to recover but we are a the hospital, you coming right?"

"Of course mom I'm on my way, which hospital?" I asked my heart beating hard against my chest

"Good hope, tell Pedro to drive you here"

"Okay mom I'll be there in a few minutes" i said and hung up
