“Hello Danny? How are you doing?” Pedro’s mom asked and I was surprised she had come to my room; she rarely came to our room, when she saw Elena she was a little bit surprised but was quick to hide it behind her smile

“Ooh sorry, you have a visitor, hey how are you pretty?” she asked Elena

“I’m fine ma’am” Elena said as she greeted her

“It’s okay my dear, you can call me Mrs. Montero, everyone else calls me that, so who are you?” she asked Elena

“My Elena, but everyone else callas me Ely, Danelya is my best friend and a sister, I came to visit her because she has been off for a while now and all that has been happening, I was worried about her, I hope you don’t mind” Elena said and Mrs. Montero smiled at her statement, she was happy

“Of course not my dear, in fact I’m happy you paid her a visit, that is what good friends do, she needed one and glad you passed by Ely, I love how guys treat each other I am Pedro’s mother hope she told you?”

“Yes she did, I’m happy to finally meet you Mrs. Montero” she said and Pedro’s mom just smiled back

“Nice to meet you too, Ely, I was coming by to call Danny so she could join us for a cup of coffee, I wish you could join us”

“Actually I was just leaving already, my mom will be looking for me, I promised to be home early” she said declining the offer but as I knew Mrs. Montero she wasn’t going to let her go until she joined us for the said cup of coffee

“Oh but a cup of coffee will just be fine, a few minutes and you will be gone, don’t decline my offer dear, come on” she said with a smile pestered on her lips

“Okay Mrs. Montero I will but just for a few minutes then I will be on my way”

“No problem, now let s get going before it gets late” she said and we agreed with her, she went out and we followed her back

“Do you get along with her? I mean Pedro’s mum, she seems to be a lovely woman”

“Yes she is and when Pedro told her about us being together, she was happy and his dad, another version of a lovely human being”

“What! You mean Pedro proposed to you? And you didn’t bother to tell me? What kind of a friend are you?” she asked feigning hurt and I had to shush her

“Shush Elena, they will hear you, and yes Pedro asked I to his girlfriend and I said yes, and then everything just happened so fast, I don’t even know what to do but I’m glad he and his family have been of help to us, I’m so grateful” I said whilst smiling, they were sure the best ad loving family I had met since my family’s demise

“I understand Danny and I’m happy for you, I always saw how the two of you looked at each other, pure love, I am truly happy for you my dear” she said

“Thanks dear, thank you, now let us get going before she comes back looking for us” I said and she agreed with me. We both walked out of the room and headed downstairs to the dining room, the moment Mr. Davidson’s eyes met Elena’s, shock, surprise and horror was written all over his face and so was Elena’s

“What is wrong Ely? Why are you suddenly stopping?” I asked confused at the turn of events

“It’s him, what is he doing here?” she asked still looking at Mr. Davidson

“Do you know him? What are you talking about?” I asked her still confused

“David what is going on here? Why are you two looking at each other as if you know each other? Is there something I’m missing?” Mrs. Montero asked her husband, everyone was confused just like I was

“Elena?” Mr. Davidson called ad she came walking towards where they were standing, I just followed her behind wondering what was happening

“Dad?” Elena said and everyone in the room had the ‘what’ look on their faces, I mean Mr. Davidson being Ely’s dad, how on earth did I miss that? I asked myself loudly

“What? What do you mean by that? Dad what is going on?” Pedro spoke for the first time and his dad was just confused and still looking at Ely

“Davidson! Care to explain to me what the f**k is going on?” Mrs. Montero asked clearly pissed off, I had never see her so mad before

“Dad will you just tell us what is going on please? Ely just called you dad, do you know her? Or is what she is saying true?”

“I don’t know what to say or where to start from, I’m equally surprised , the last time I saw her was when she was eight and that was the last time, Elena what are you doing here?”

“I don’t know, I came to see Danny we study with her, and she is my best friend, I didn’t know you stay here and the way I have been longing to see my own father, why didn’t you come to see me? I even thought you were dead?”She said and I saw her eyes flash, she wanted to cry, it was so painful for her I understood especially knowing that the ma you have been looking for and yearning to see is just close to you

“Wow wait, I’m floating here, why don’t we all sit down so we can talk about this, I am not understanding anything” Mrs. Montero said and everyone agreed, we were all anticipating to know what really happened

“Okay, I know you all confused and I can say I’m also confused but first I would like to apologize to you, my wife, my son , Ely and everyone else, I’m so sorry, I didn’t expect things to turn out this way, all my life I never wanted to stay away from my family or my kids but I terribly failed at that, first I would like to apologize to you all, you are now family and what I’m going to say is so important, I would like you all to listen to me and from there you can all decide whether to forgive me or not” he said and I felt sorry for him

“When I met Tashmin, Elena’s mother, I was attracted to her, we met while I was here for a business meeting, she was presenting a project she had worked on ad I really liked it, then and one thing led into the other and we became good friends, the one day things got messy, I was drunk and we were both drunk, I don’t know what really happened but we found you Ely I was ready to take responsibility and to take care of you but you grandparents wanted nothing to do with me, they really embarrassed me, called me names but I didn’t give up, I tried my way out and made plans with your mom to be seeing you once in a while and when they realized the plan they worked hard and made sure they gave me a restraining order to stay far away from you until you turned eighteen and you were going to decide on your own, I am so sorry I wasn’t there for you and everything but it was not my fault” he said as he took Ely’s hand in his asking for forgiveness

“It is okay dad, mom told me everything that happened but I don’t know why she didn’t want me to look for you, she kept on giving excuses but I’m happy to finally meet you, I’m sorry for what grandma and grandpa put you through, but I’m glad I finally get to meet you” Elena said and Mrs. Montero gave her a weird look, she was mad I could sense it but that was not her mistake

“This is insane David; you cheated on me and hid it from m all this time? How dare you David?” Mrs. Montero half shouted, it was hurting to see the two fight, for the few days I had known them, they were always sweet and respectful but seeing Mrs. Montero crying, it hurt me, Mr. Davidson cheated on her years ago and she was still mad at him. I figured out it was a family matter so I motioned Talia to follow me out, we had to leave the solve their issues, as far as I was concerned we were still strangers to them

“I think we should leave you guys to solve this matter, it is a family issue and we will be intruding if we stayed here” I said

“No it is okay Danny don’t bother, you are family now, just stay put” Mrs. Montero said and we just had to agree to everything, I hated to see her cry, I took her as my own mom

“I am sorry Mrs. Montero I didn’t mean to cause all these wrangles, I came here to see Danny and I didn’t know if I would meet my dad here, I didn’t mean to cause these, I am truly sorry” Elena said
