Life took a different course, from the moment my dad moved us to that place, things started changing, things started taking a different course and not just a good course because everything was going haywire, we couldn't control what was happening

Mom was in stress I could sense.

"Mom why is it that dad doesn't want us to go back at the house?" I tried to ask so I could get the whole clue.

"You heard him yourself baby, I don't know what is wrong but I hope everything is okay" she said fidgeting with her fingers, we were parked just across the road and she was in deep thoughts

"My daughter why don't we go to my place, I think that will be okay as your husband thinks on way out, we can't stay on road the whole day" grandma suggested and it kind of made sense, we weren't going to stay on the road the whole day, we had to do something

"Okay sounds like a good idea, what about Talia, is she safe at the hospital?" Mom asked and I remembered that my sister was still at the hospital

"Let's get home first then we can all go out to check on Talia, Danny you will remain at home as we go to discharge your sister from the hospital" grandma said and I was left with no option, despite, I needed some time alone, I wanted to talk to Pedro, he had left me, I just wanted stop hear his side of the story.

"Okay grandma, I'm okay with that, I need to freshen up and I don't have any clothes to change into" I said after it hit me hard that I didn't carry my clothes with me

"Your clothes shouldn't be a problem, you will wear Kenadi's she's home"

"Wow I didn't even realize that, what about school mom?"

"I talked to your class teacher, you have a one week break, we need to figure out things before you finally go back to school"

"Okay mom" i said and went back to my phone, there was no missed call or message from Pedro and i was starting to feel like he was kind of avoiding me or maybe he was not with his phone

It took us around forty minutes to get to granny's house, it was just the same as i had left, nothing had changed, Kenadi was in the house watching, she was my agemate and then only child to my late aunty who died while giving birth to her so grandma took her in and they had been staying together for ever since she was a kid

"Wow look at you Danny, you've grown so tall and so big" Kenadi said ans i smiled at her, she had grown tall and was a little bit more thick than me, her hips were prominent from the sweatpant she was putting on and i kind of felt jealous of her body.

"So have you, what has granny been feeding you?" I wised jokingly and she laughed hard before we disentangled from the hug and she went ahead to hug mom and grandma

"Welcome home aunty" she said

"Thanks Kenadi, we not even staying,your grandma and i are going to the hospital to discharge Talia" mom said and Kenadi frowned

"What? I hope everything is okay, what happened to Talia?" She asked

"Everything is fine my dear, Talia got shot yesterday but she is okay right now, we just going to get her here, you can guys can stay here for a while before we figure things out, is that okay with you?"

"Of course I have no problem with that, this is home and they are my cousins, i missed them, but I'm mad at the both of you, why didn't someone tell me my lovely cousin was shot, even you Danny?" She asked and I kind of felt guilty but I was in the police custody, I wasn't able to call her

"I'm sorry but Danny wasn't in a position to, she was arrested yesterday, I just got her out on bail, let's get going we will explain everything to you once we back but meanwhile, you can talk to your cousin about it" mom said and we agreed

I watched grandma and mom drive off the compound not knowing it was the last time I was going to see my grandma alive, she was my favorite person and I hate to say that I blame myself for her death

"So Danny why were you arrested?" Kenadi attacked me with her numerous questions

"I was going to tell you anyway, can I shower first then I'll tell you what happened, I feel like crap" I said and she agreed

"Of course you know your way around, sort yourself I know you didn't come with any clothes so just put on mine we of the same size right?" She asked while smiling and I just laughed it of

I spent my quality time in the shower, after about half an hour I was all set, I walked out of her room, in one of her dresses.

"Wow look at who has grown tall all of a sudden" she said as she set the table

"I will take that as a compliment, so tell me how have you been?"

"Been good, school life here and there but I can't complain, how about you? You got a boyfriend or yours till single? Or the last time I checked you were with this Pedro guy as a friend, did you guys love things further?" She asked and I just laughed

Kenadi is my cousin but she can be one hell of a person, she is a talkative person and I know you can never be bored with her around

"Huh you talking too much, how about we start with you? Did you finally talk to your crush" I asked and she smiled, you see Kenadi was having a crush on a certain hottie in her school; the guy was every one's dream boy

"Story for another day" she said while smiling and i knew better than asking, she was in love

"Hmm..Okay I totally understand, so tell me why didn't you come to my birthday party?" I asked her, you see I had invited her and she didn't show up

"I'm sorry, I was about to talk to you about it, grandma wasn't feeling well yesterday had to stay back and help her, I'm also wondering how she managed to go out today"

"I totally understand, what did you get me for my birthday? I just turned sixteen" I asked. Kenadi was a few months older than me but we were of the same age

"Something special but first tell me what happened to you to the point it getting arrested, I know you better than that Danny"

"Well a lot happened from my birthday party to Pedro talking to dad that he has a surprise for me so dad allowed us to go, we went and Pedro asked me to be his girlfriend"

"Wow finally, that cutie did something he should have done long time ago, I hope you said yes" she literally shouting and I had to shush her

"Easy Kenadi, of course you of all people should know better than that, I loved and I still love him, i said yes and guess what the surprise was?"

"Huh tell me, how on earth will I know that?" She said

"Well he gifted me a car and let me tell you, it was the most precious and expensive gift one has ever bought me"

"Ooh my God, you mean you now owning a car! What the f**k! I wish I was you, and how comes you didn't come with it here, you should start taking me out now that you owning a freaking car!" She was shouting all over the place but just before I could respond to her, my phone vibrated it was a call from a new number, i thought of ignoring it then I received it on my ear, speaking of the devil, Pedro was the one who was calling

"Hello baby, it’s me Pedro I'm sorry I didn't call you, my phone got lost yesterday and I was grounded by mom, I'm coming to explain everything to you, don't worry I'll be there in a few minutes, will give you a call once I'm at the gate" he said and hung up even before I could tell him that I wasn't home.

"Who is that?" Kenadi asked

"Pedro he said he is coming to see me and hung up even before i could tell him I'm here"

"He will give you a call and you'll tell him where you are, relax, let him come, I can't wait to see this hunky " she said and I just laughed it off had a lot in my mind, what did he want to tell me or talk to be about?
