CHAPTER 51

1453 Words

When I returned to my bedroom, I stood on the balcony, gazing out as far as I could see. I looked up at the sky, but there weren’t any lights anywhere, which meant I couldn’t expect any phone calls or make any myself. I walked back into my room, grabbed a notebook and pen, and started jotting down a few observations about the fae world—things that needed to be remembered. I realized that my father had a fae watching me for years, and I had no idea. How do I know they can't get into someone’s head and make them forget their entire life? That was one thing I wasn’t going to let them take away from me. I sensed that something wasn’t right, but I knew I couldn't escape on my own, and they would kill Saige if she tried to help me. On the other hand, I wasn’t sure if I wanted to leave just yet.
