Nia woke up without Luke in bed. She realized she’s now used to waking up with him in the mornings. But where could he be? She went to check her phone, but then his phone was lying there with hers. She washed up as her stomach rumbled. She was surprised to know she slept more hours than usual. She quickly prepared to go out and search for her family. And Luke. Right about now, she considers him to be part of the family.
She went to the other room and saw her siblings still sleeping. It was the caregiver who opened the door for her.
“Where’s mom?”
“She went to eat breakfast. She should be in the restaurant.”
“I see. Have you eaten?”
“Oh, yes. I ordered room service very early this morning.”
