Chapter 3 – Her plan

He frowned at her, starting to dislike her stare. When she noticed his expression, she panicked. With that, he relaxed. “What is it?” He asked as he lay back down. Nia sat up and took the blanket, covering herself up and hesitating whether to throw part of it over him. Jeremy chuckled as he watched. He pulled a corner of the blanket and covered himself from the waist down. As he did so, he faced her and laid on his side. Her little actions seemed natural to him. As for Nia, she’s nervous because she’s about to change her future. She’s about to do something that didn’t happen in her previous life. “I would like to ask…” His expression darkened at her words. “I’m already paying you a lot of money. You’re not in a position to ask for anything more.” Her eyes widened. “No, you misunderstand. That’s not what I meant.” There was silence between them as he studied her. “Is that so? What is it, then?” She took a deep breath. “I’m probably going to continue earning money this way. I… I’m sorry if this is going to offend you…” He raised an eyebrow and urged her to go on. “I… I assume you’ve been looking for women to sleep with frequently. Like… maybe once a week. You must know a place where to get women. I’m wondering if you can introduce me to something like that?” “You’re essentially describing a brothel.” She’s glad that she didn’t offend him. Did she make a mistake, though? Does he know about Joshua’s private club or not? “I didn’t want to go on streets to look for men to hook up with. I’m sure you know what I mean…” She waited for how he would react, what he would say… His brows furrowed. “You’re right. There’s a place I frequently go to when I’m itching for a woman. Given how you’re new, you’ll most likely get in… except they don’t accept inexperienced individuals. They don’t want to deal with a woman refusing a client at the last minute, or unable to service a man because she’s not prepared for something he asked.” “I can learn.” Nia immediately said. Jeremy chuckled again. This girl… “I basically popped your cherry last night. You are totally inexperienced. But obedient, I’ll say that about you.” She hesitated again. He’s a much nicer person than she thought. He’s willing to talk to her. “Then, would you help me? You’ve experienced many things, right? You don’t even have to pay me. Just help me get in? Please?” Nia pleaded; her eyes seem to pierce something in his chest. He’s not the type to like any of the woman he bedded. But there’s something about this girl… “You’re only eighteen, aren’t you?” “Yes.” “Why are you doing this? College?” That seems to be the usual reason of young girls he encountered. Nia shook her head. “My mom’s in the hospital. It’s been a while and her condition is getting worse. I haven’t finished high school yet.” Oh, boy. Worse than the usual, huh? It should be a sob story, and yet she’s not sobbing. He likes her character. “You sure this is what you want to do? No other option for you?” She shook her head. “Right now, this is the only thing I can do. You don’t want to hear my life story. So, would you help me?” “It might take a while, otherwise the boss won’t take you.” He actually considered it. She sighed in relief. “Can you tell me about it? Is it a legit business?” Jeremy laid on his back again. Did she piss him off with her questions? For a moment there, he actually wanted to help her. But not… he’s not going on a personal level. “It’s some sort of club. It’s very particular with privacy. Most clients are like me. Men who’d rather not pick-up women off the streets. Men who can’t be bothered to talk women into our beds. You can’t have loose lips there. They have a set of strict rules you should follow. One violation and you’re out. The screening is quite tedious. Yes, they prefer recommended individuals. You’d have a chance to get in if I recommend you.” “Thank you. I’ll do my best.” He didn’t reply to that. “There’s something I’m curious about.” She continued, seeing he’s not sleeping yet. That made him curious. He turned to her and prompted with a look. “Why… if you’ve been going to that place, why did you look for a virgin? Shouldn’t you prefer experienced women?” Jeremy shifted and put one arm under his head. Oddly, she feels heated at being able to stare at his naked body. She only realized now that he’s actually attractive. Really attractive. She’d been with many men… how should she refer to that part of her life? Is it her past or her future? It’s not gonna be her future now, is it? “You won’t eat steak every day of your life, would you?” She looked at him as he spoke. That… was a good analogy. Jeremy smirked. He can tell she understood. There was no need for him to explain. He sighed. Sometimes, he would get tired of dealing with pretentious women. Those who are experienced and reacts practically the same way in bed. Coquettish. Flirtatious. Coy. Even the way they carry a conversation is the same. He should tell Joshua to change things up a bit. Sometimes, he would crave for someone inexperienced. He liked their natural reactions. Their shy appearance. The embarrassment. The hesitation. Their clumsy actions. Of course, most of the time he still prefers the experienced women. “Then, you agree to help me, right?” Nia wanted confirmation. He took a while to respond, making her nervous again. “Sure. How about we meet every weekend?” She finally smiled. “Yes. Thank you.” “I’ll let my assistant contact you again.” “Please do.” If she’s honest, with her seven years of experience, she didn’t need to ask him… but she needs him to make a recommendation for her. On their next meeting, she can show him a lot of improvement. She’d tell him a lie. That she watched videos and movies, played with herself, read stories or something… Maybe in a month, she could have him bring her to the club. He’d probably think she’s simply a natural. She’s desperate anyway. Desperate times call for desperate measures. She finally laid down on the other side of the bed. Jeremy looked over because of her movements. When he stared at her face, her eyes were already closed. He listened to her breathing and found her face calm. The traces of her frown earlier were gone. She looked serene and for a moment, he was tempted to touch her face. She has soft skin. She was very pliant. He groaned. He’d rested while they were talking and now, he’s aroused again. She, on the other hand, finally fell asleep as her concerns were addressed. He sighed. They’ll meet again next week anyway. He will have her again. He probably won’t be bored as she decided to learn from him. When he woke up at seven, he got up and showered. She opened her eyes as he was putting on his clothes. She seemed to be startled and got up quickly. “You’re already going?” There was a trace of nervousness in her voice. She’s glad she already talked to him earlier. Her hunch was right. If she waited for this moment, she might not have the chance to talk to him. He raised an eyebrow at her. “Yeah. I still need to go home.” “Then, I’ll see you next week?” She tentatively asked and he only nodded. He gestured at the bedside. “That’s for you.” Nia looked there and saw an envelope. It’s a thick envelope. The price of her virginity and one night with him. She breathed in deeply. That money… she would set aside a portion of it to spend on their living expenses and the rest would be for their mother’s hospitalization. For a few seconds, Jeremy noticed her wavering expression as she stared at the envelope. He feels a little bad for her. When Nia left the hotel, she went straight to the hospital. She was hesitant. Would she finally realize that this is a dream and she truly died? Or would she really see her mother again? She checked her expression. She seemed to have matured overnight. There’s determination in her eyes as she faced the mirror. She brought fruits with her. If she remembers correctly, her mom could still wake up at this time. She could talk to her. Before that, she settled some of their bills first. There’s still a bit left and it would accumulate again the longer her mother remains in the hospital. Hopefully, by then, she would have gotten a position at the club. Her mother is still sleeping when she got to her room. Seeing her face again, she didn’t realize when she started crying. She sat on a chair and held her hand. She probably looked like a crazy person. She was smiling while crying, as she stares at her mom’s face. Oh, how she missed her. If there’s anyone in the world who would side by her, no matter what, it would be her mom. She has nothing to do today so she stayed with her. She feels calm inside, knowing her mother’s still alive. She can’t let her go. She would make sure she gets better. They can’t lose another parent. Her brother and sister… she couldn’t raise them on her own. Mark is a good kid. He’s very understanding of their situation. He silently makes his own sacrifices. He never asks her for allowance. She knows he’d been working parttime somewhere to help out in their expenses. Lara’s the problematic one. She just couldn’t contribute anything but problems. When she gives her money, she would complain that it’s not enough. She would come to her for more. Her mouth is poisonous, saying a lot of negativity. Mostly, she’s alone at home. Mark couldn’t stand her either, but he’d be back to the house to accompany her. Make sure she’s safe. Nia normally stays at the hospital with their mother. Before today, what did she actually do? She would go out to ask around for any job or work to be done. One day, someone approached her. A woman. Nia hesitated at her proposition, but she was left with her contact number. When she really couldn’t find anything, she finally called her and asked. This woman acts like an agent or something. Told her someone’s looking for a virgin and the price for it is high. She bit her lip as she asked how much. And that’s how last night happened.
