Found You

Mateo couldn't sleep.  He knew his father was safe, his familia was safe. But he still felt restless. Something about the murders of the other men jumped out at him. The clean efficient kills that had the F.B.I scratching their heads. The changing M.O, the lack of empathy, no evidence tying a specific person.  Staying up late one night at his desk, Mateo looked at the picture of the dead Michael Rivera. The latest victim.  Not that anyone really saw him that way. It had been revealed ten seconds before his death how foul Michael really was. The abuse he inflicted on his family, the forced marriage of his 17 year old bride, and he being forty five.  Her stricken face on the news with her large belly being zoomed in on. Mateo could tell no one could blame whoever did this. If going on what he was doing, it was another one of his victims getting justice. Since the F.B.I and local cops didn't do s**t, it wasn't a shock a vigilante was loose in the city.  "Is everything okay son?" Mateo looked at his father and smiled, "Yeah just...trying to make sense of this mess."  Mateo had decided to stay with his parents and sister for a couple of nights. He knew they were safe, but better safe than sorry. "I keep trying to." Stephano sat in front of the desk and grabbed a picture of Michael. Head laid back in his office chair like he fell asleep. Blood splatter and brain matter on the wall behind him.  "They say the bullet used on him was clean and custom design. Even worse they couldn't find s**t from where they think the person shot him. That's if they shot him from that building, our guys said they can't even match the straight shot they had of him." Mateo shook his head baffled, "Same thing though. They can torture and walk away clean or shoot them point black. Still walk away like they did nothing and no one sees shit."  Stephano continued to stare at Michael, "Won't say I miss his ass though." Mateo looked at his father amused, "Not a fan?" Stephano laughed, "Never was. He was a good partner in weapons deals but when he started branching off into women trafficking like Giovanni and Stephano I dropped him."  Mateo sighed, "It's so weird."  Stephano looked at his son, "What is?" Mateo shook his head,"Every man killed was in someway a rapist. Whether it was trafficking the women, or actually doing it themselves." Stephano nodded, "So either they raped someone the person cares about," Mateo jumped on that train of thought, "Or they raped her." Stephano hummed and stood as he paced, "I know a lot of women those assholes took advantage of. They didn't care who they were or who they belonged to. They liked a woman and thought she could make them a pretty penny, they took her, broke her in, and sold her."  Mateo shook his head, "I don't know if I want to stop the person who's doing this or worship them for getting rid of the scum." Stephano smiled and threw the photo of Michael down.  "Well you could always offer your services son. It wouldn't be launching a war if no one knows it was you." Mateo grinned a little, "If I find who did this," holding up a picture of the decapitated Vincenzo Rossi, "I'll be more than honored to get to help them."  Stephano left his son alone and so Mateo kept working.  Hours into his digging he stopped dead when he caught sight of an old letter that had been intercepted from their F.B.I contact.  From: Sophia Guerrero To: Adena Lopez Dear Adena,  It's been a month since Aurora has come to the states and she still remains difficult. So hardened by her trauma and training she refuses to let others in. I worry about her because while she is angry, while she is murderous, she is still a young girl. She needs help, but she refuses to speak in therapy.  I worry seeing her mother's rape has affected her ability to trust men. She punched a boy in the face when he tried to kiss her. It was innocent, but the look of fear I saw wasn't normal.  Aurora isn't trying to get better, she's instead content to be brooding and boiling with no friends. I know you and I haven't seen eye to eye, but I need your help so she can have the best life.  Love, Sophia. Mateo looked at the photo copied letter and then quickly typed in their database of familia info, Sophia Guerrero.  Name: Sophia Argentina  Married Name: Sophia Guerrero  Husband: Pablo Guerrero Children: 0 Mateo saw nothing of interest that could pin Sophia to Giovanni or any of the other men. So instead he looked into Pablo Guerrero, and that's when he found exactly what he was looking for.  The Guerrero family originated in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. Pablo left the family when he was twenty five after meeting his wife Sophia. His brother Angelo and wife Mary stayed behind with their daughter Aurora. Angelo and Mary were attacked by ten different branches of mafia families for supposedly stopping a trade deal of women to be kidnapped and brought to the states.  To send a message they raped and beat the mother in front of her husband and daughter. They severely beat and electrocuted Angelo Guerrero to death in front of his daughter. After their home was tarnished and both were urinated on after no one was held accountable. Their daughter was never seen again.  Mateo pulled up an old photo of the family and looked closely at the little pretty girl smiling widely as her dad kissed her cheek. So happy, so innocent. If only she knew... "I found you Aurora."
