NEW FEELINGS

Stephany’s P.O.V.

I put my bag in the locker and pulled out the book and stationery I needed for the first period. I came to college after almost 6 weeks.

“Steph”, suddenly I heard someone shouting my name from the far end of the corridor and I rolled my eyes. What a drama queen.

Jenny ran all over to me while shouting my name in excitement. She stopped while holding my arm for support and panted very hard.

“Oh My God….. it’s great to see you here”, she exclaimed while hugging me too tightly that it almost choked me. “Jen… you are choking..me”, I said while catching my breath. She immediately loosens her grip on me.

“I am so sorry…. Are you all right?”, she said while looking all over my body. “Jen…”, I humped. “You choked me not hit me with a dagger”, I rolled my eyes again.

“I am just worried about you. What’s my fault now”, she said while moving her shoulders. Uhhhh….

“Nothing is your fault. Can we go to the class? Remember… we are here to study”, I said sarcastically.

She rolled her eyes and held me by arm and chirped like a bird. She likes drama but she is cute.

“Hey Steph… how are you”, I heard someone and I looked back. I knew who he was. I didn't know why but suddenly a smile occurred on my lips. Jenny looked at me in shock and I immediately regain my composure.

“Hi Noah… I am fine… what about you”, I asked awkwardly. It was more looking like a formal conversation.

“Well… thanks for asking… I am good… how is your father now”, he asked in the same tone while scratching his back of the neck. We met after a long time. It was not the first time I took the break because of my injuries. But, it was really feeling awkward today. We almost messaged each other every day asking about our day after first I received his message.

We both were looking at each other without saying anything. “Aheem….”, Jenny cleared her throat and we both came out from our trance. She grinned and said, “I think Noah can accompany you till your class as you both are in the same class. So….. it’s my cue to go…. See you in the lunch Steph”, she winked at me and waved to Noah and then leaves before I could say anything.

I looked at him and he smiled at me while gesturing with hand to move. “You didn’t answer me… how is your father now”, he asked again and I gave him a confused look. Suddenly, I remembered that he knew that my father was ill. “Oh…. he is fine now”, I said while regaining my composure.

“I heard that you are a martial art trainee?”, he asked me and my eyes widened in shock. How the hell he came to know. “Yeah…. My father is a martial art teacher so….. I am learning since I was a child”, I stammered a little but soon gain my voice back. I didn’t like having a personal conversation with anyone. But, I was comfortable with Noah.

“Babyyyyyyy….”, Suddenly Beth appeared out of the blue and threw herself on Noah. He staggered a little while catching his balance. She caught him off guard and he almost lost his balance. In an instant, I held him by his hand as if he was going to fell down on the floor. He looked at me and mouthed thanks. I nodded and removed my hands immediately.

“Beth… what the heck are you doing. You all most made both of us fall on the ground”, he shouted at her and she made a puppy look. Weirdo.... doesn't she had any self-respect?

“Hunny…. What’s my fault now… I missed you so much and was not able to control myself when saw you”, she seductively made a move on him by putting her hands on his chest and started making circles on his chest.

He removed her hands harshly and gave her a look. “We met yesterday Beth. Now, what’s your problem”.

“You know how much I love you Noah… but always broke my heart”, she faked pain. I rolled my eyes mentally and looked towards Noah. “I think I gotta go otherwise I will be late for class. See you in the class”, I said to him and as I took a step forward he held my wrist. I shivered instantly. I really hate being touched by anyone.

“I am coming with you”, he said while shooting daggers at Beth. He didn’t leave my wrist and surprisingly I didn’t try so.

Beth looked towards our hand and then looked at me in disgust, “you are nothing but trash Stephany. He is mine and will always be mine”, she said while the closing distance between us, and I scoffed. “You know what Beth…. Grow up”, I mocked her, and then we both left for our class leaving her stunned.

“I am sorry for her Steph”, Noah said while leaving my wrist before entering the class. He looked at me apologetically. “It’s ok… I am used to her behavior. But, I can’t allow her to bully me. It’s not acceptable for me”, I said in a normal tone and he nodded.

“This is what makes you…. You…. You know how to protect your self-dignity that’s lacked in her and other those girls who like to throw herself just for gaining some attention”, he said and we both sat on our seat. There was some time before the class starts.

“By the way… I think Jenny has told you but still I want to remind you that It’s a meeting about Sports meet after college at the football ground. P.T. has summoned everyone there to announce something about the meet”, he told me and I gave him a nod.

Before I could say anything he cut me off, “Can we friends Steph”, I opened my mouth and then closed. I didn’t know how to react. He offered his friends before also but I denied that time. Something has changed now.

“Honestly I don’t know what to answer you Noah… let’s leave this on the time. We have a long way to cover”, I said while moving my shoulders and a small smile occurred on his face. He really looked cute with those small dimples at the corner of his lips.

I shook my head…. What are you doing Steph…I realized that first time in my life…. I admired a boy.

Bethany’s P.O.V.

I hate her. I hate her existence in the world from bottom of my heart. I love Noah since kindergarten. Everything was going well. Noah was not like other boys who opened with everyone. I worked hard on winning his trust.

But everything goes south as soon as she entered our lives. Noah started following her like a lovesick puppy. She every time gave him a cold shoulder but I know that he is determined. He will not give up till last. What was so special in her? She is a pathetic, low-class b***h with no attractive body who showed that she doesn’t need the attention of anyone but did everything to get the attention.

I am beautiful than her, richer than her, the whole college danced around my fingertips. I can bend any boy to his knee but why in all the boys, Noah likes her. I just hate her. I envy her for everything she had even her friendship with Jenny. Why can’t I have a friend like her? I sighed and looked towards my so-called friends who were busying in their own gossips.

They follow me everywhere. They praise everything. Even I remove my nail paint they praised that I have beautiful nails…. O God… I hate them for being so fake. They never criticize me if I did something wrong and or said anything wrong. I wanted a friend like Jenny. I had seen her how she cared for Stephany. How she scolded her if she does anything wrong? I have everything in terms of wealth but lack real people with real feelings.

We were sitting in the cafeteria. I didn’t have an appetite. I threw myself on Noah. I didn’t like this but I did just to realize him that I am the one who is for him, not her.

“Hey Beth.. do you know … Steph is leading the Sports Meet this year”, one of minion Andy told me and it increased my anger.
