I’d been looking for Ruby everywhere. My heart was bursting with anxiety as the minutes ticked by and I searched every room and the forest looking for her. She was pissed at me and I hated it. Everything had been so good between us up until this point and I know she thinks I was trying to take Caspian on alone. It wasn't intentional. I just let him get under my skin. Hoping that I had somehow missed her and she had made it back to our room, I raced up to the top floor to check again.
