“Ruby,” Caspian’s light blue eyes twinkled with devilish expectation and his lips twitched up into a sneer that made my blood boil. Just from that look alone, I knew he was not here to reason or hand himself in. He was here for a fight.
“Caspian,” I replied coldly, with the same sadistic grin.
“You didn’t come alone after all,” he tutted, and my heart started to race. But when his eyes glanced over at Esme’s restrained body floating next to me, I realised that was who he was referring to.
“I thought we could make a deal. A life for a life,” I said carefully. His evil smirk grew larger as he looked from Esme to me. My eyes danced down to Oscar’s terrified face as he squirmed under Caspian’s firm grip.
