Getting a call from his mother about grabbing lunch together was not something Miles had expected to put on his agenda for the day.
His parents, though they ran a strip club with a five in the morning closing hour, managed to wake up before noon everyday. Miles received the call just thirty minutes before noon, his mother inviting him to the sushi place they used to frequent a lot. She and Miles' father were already there.
Miles didn't think of an excuse fast enough not to join. And, if lunch with his parents turned out horrible, at least he still got free sushi.
