Just as her voice trailed off, Reece and Micah strolled over, walking side by side.
‘Hey, Brooke, has Darya left?’ Reece spotted her and quipped, ‘Why is this mutt still here?’
‘Darya forgot to take Marshmallow with her.’ Brooke patted the dog’s head.
Reece clicked his tongue in disapproval before asking, ‘The guy who left with her, do you know what’s going on between those two?’
‘You mean Miss McAllister and Doctor Miller?’ Brooke asked.
‘Yeah, those two.’ Reece stroked his chin. ‘They seem awfully familiar with each other. Are they more than just employer and employee?’
Brooke had a similar suspicion.
However, not one to engage in idle gossip, she simply shook her head and said, ‘I have no idea.’
Micah narrowed his eyes and shifted his attention to Marshmallow.
