I watched his every move, but he gave nothing away. If what I was saying shocked him, he wasn’t showing it. I reminded myself that I was dealing with the first king. The one demon who found a way to bring the worst of the worst together under one roof.
Enough so that they followed him. Even if it was for a fairly short while in demon years, he still got it done. He somehow knew what was about to happen before it happened. Were visions one of his powers or was he just that good at reading the surrounding circumstances to the point that he could almost guess what was about to happen?
I didn’t have much time to think about it as I had him in a corner and would have to find a way out of wherever we were fast. I burst out laughing and my laughter echoed through the enormous room.
